Don Bosco and the art of a historic restaurant

The first time that I went to Don Bosco I was eight years old. I was fascinated about
this tiny house with comfortable spaces. The smell of the food felt in every inch of the
restaurant. Don Bosco turns sixty years old this year and after all this time, the
restaurant changed his location, but it still looks and feels just as it did back then?

If you sat down right now at Don Bosco Restaurant, which is situated on Republica
Dominicana Avenue in Jesús María, you will find dishes like potatoes with his famous
huancaina cream or steak in red wine sauce. However, the most remarkable dish is the
pesto pasta with chicken, steak or pork. I am not a pasta person but when I go there, I
must always order this dish. The freshness of the pesto and cheese with just the right
amount of olive oil just tickled my palate to heaven.

A few years ago, the first time that the restaurant changed their location, I was quite
disappointed. White and minimalist decoration: nothing attractive if you want to enjoy
delicious Peruvian food with your family. But, after the covid pandemic the
decoration changed to warm colors and beautiful wood tables with flowers. The staff,
always, receive you with a warm and genuine smile.

The single misstep I encountered at Don Bosco Restaurant was the main course arroz
con pollo, featuring chicken, coriander and spinach paste that was, unfortunatly, too
strong in flavor. Although, the chicken was wonderfully seasoned.
