COVER LETTER

Dear Ms. Hoan,

I am writing to apply for a part-time job as an English teacher at your English center, whose
recruitment information I found on my Facebook.
I heard about your English center’s reputation several times. What makes me impressed about
your institution is the professionalism and enthusiasm of the teaching staff, as well as an
enormous interaction in the social media. Therefore, I do hope that one day I will be able to join
hands with you as an English teacher.
I am currently a fourth-year student of Honors Program at University of Languages and
International Studies. My major is to teach English as a second language, thus, my learning
process at university certainly will assist me greatly on my journey of becoming a teacher in the
near future.
Since my first year at college, I have been working as an English tutor, which brings me a
chance of interacting and collaborating with students of various ages. My task was to instruct
students give explanation for the grammar and vocabulary exercises in case the students got into
trouble.
Additionally, I am also equipped with adaptive and problem-solving skills when working with
different kinds of people. In the past year, I have volunteered to be a student teacher in Nguyen
Lan Middle School, where I have a chance to support students in class performance as well as
organize extra-curricular activities in order for the students to build up their confidence in
listening and speaking skills. Being an English volunteer in a secondary school has brought me
a great deal of experience in class management and communication, which will definitely be
essential for an English teaching position.
Other than being a student teacher, I also worked as an English teacher in a small class of about
8 to 10 students of grade 6-7. This gave me multiple experience and methods in transferring
English knowledge regarding grammar and vocabulary to the young learners. Being an
instructor, furthermore, offered me an opportunity to improve problem-solving and decision-
making skills, which provided a great foundation for my future career.
I have enclosed a copy of my CV and would appreciate a chance for an interview. Thank you in
advance for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
Nguyen Thi Minh Chi
