INTRODUCTION

To solve the old-age problem of water scarcity in the area the provincial government

thru then Former Gov. Savellano constructed two water impounding projects with the stream

baside the farm and revive deep walls. Several water-based projects which are doable and

affordable are now being supplied by the water reservoirs. These projects plus the renovated

water reservoir put up but never used by Phil-Cotton are expected to help the water problem of

Demo farm

This qualifies it as an Economic Agricultural Tourism (EAT) Zone, showcasing

agrotechnology’s such as organic agriculture and bio-intensive gardening (BIG)

This place is what used to be 16.5-hectare experimental station of the Philippine

Cotton Development Authority. For about 25 years, this site was dormant, a barren waste-land.

Driven by a burning desire to help uplift the quality of life of his constituents in the province,

notably farmers, and blaze the trail for his people to follow the Gov. Deograscias Victor “DV”

Savellano conceptualized the idea of putting up this worthy venture. This agricultural project is

now known as BArang-ay Demo Fam which the Gov. DV envisions to help solve food scarcity

and minimize poverty in the province. Upgrading the livestock and raising of crops thru organic

farming are now the flagship agricultural programs of the province. The name of this was

derived from Barangay Agriculture and the I locos word “rangay” which means progress of the

Barangay.BArang-ay Demo farm was officially launched on December 17,2007.

VISION

ISCC Demofarm will be a community centered school where faculty and students learn

with the people in the fields of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agro-forestry.

MISSION

I locos Sur Community College Demofarm trains Filipinos to become nation builders in

the fields of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agro-forestry.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND EXPERIENCES

Composting is a simple technology for converting biodegradable waste into organic

fertilizer. Drug administration like vitamins is an effective means to prevent and/or reduce the

adverse effects of specific diseases that can cause problems in a poultry flock. Always check

with your certification agency before administering any product to your livestock. We fed catfish

and tilapia as well as rabbits. Used hand tractor and sown corn seeds. We cleaned up around the

farm in the demo farm and also cleaned up the rabbit care. Gardening invites you to get outside,

interact with other gardeners, and take charge of own need for exercise, healthy food, and

beautiful surroundings. If you’re digging, hauling, and harvesting, your physical strength, heart

health, weight, sleep, and immune systems all benefit.

Use a spot on the neck just behind and below the ear, but in front of the shoulder. Inject

only into clean, dry areas. To reduce leakage in small pigs, push the skin forward or backward

slightly before injection, then let the skin snap back when needle is removed. Do not use a

needle to inject in the ham or loin. Rabbits are eaten by wolves, coyotes, and stoats, dogs, and

ferrets are some of the animals that eat rabbits and I feed tilapia and mudfish, snakefish, in the

farm. The Fish Amino Acid (FAA) is a liquid made form fist scrap. FAA is of great value to both

plants and microorganism in their growth, because it contains and abundant amount of nutrients

and various types of amino acids that will constitute a source of Nitrogen for plants. I cleaned

around the Rabbit, in the afternoon we the pig and chicken. Some historians say the early settlers

were inspired by the queen’s actions roasted a turkey instead of a goose. When I arrived there, I

feed the chicken, turkey, and goose

On Friday in morning, arrived early at the demo farm and when arrived there,

immediately fed their pets, when we’re chicken, gees, turkey, and native pigs, all day long. On

Monday morning fed a buffalo, and a native pig, we mixed the pig’s food at first, we chopped

the Corchorus until it was fine. Then we mixed the dried, salt, sorghum corn mash feeds and we

added fermented plant juice, and organic fertilizer fermented pant juice (FPJ) and molasses in the

afternoon the pigs and cows were bathed and given water. Native pigs are easier and cheaper to

local conditions and do not require expensive housing and care. They are fed with organic

materials available in the household or farm like food wastes, vegetable scraps and plant leaves.

Maize (Zeal mays) is a well-known domesticated cereal grain first domesticated in Mexico. In

much of the word, it is also called corn. Word wide cultivation of maize surpasses other

prominent grains like wheat and rice. Maize must be planted in the spring due to its intolerance

for cold weather.

Fermented fruit juice (FFJ) is made from sweet ripe fruiting vegetables, and root

crops that are thoroughly blended with crude sugar or molasses. It is stored for a shot period of

time and the fermented extract is applied to plants to promote flowering and fruit setting. I put in

the battle plastic so it dries well and doesn’t finish fed native pig. Goats will eat hay, grasses,

weeds, grain, and sometimes eve tree bark! So, what do we actually feed the goats here at Zoo

Atlanta? The main part of a goat’s diet is called roughage. Roughie is usually grass or hay that is

high in fiber and has relatively low calories.

All intramuscular injection must be administered in the neck muscle. Inject in the center of the

illustrated triangle area bounded by the spine (A), the ligament of the neck (B) and shoulder

line(C). Use a 16-to-20-gauge needle 2.5 to 4 cm long (1 to 1.5 inches)

Bonsai plants are beneficial to one's health. It aids in the treatment of coughs,

weariness, sore throats, and exhaustion. Aside from that, bonsai has certain

psychological advantages that will assist you in relieving mental tension. Feeds

like forages, hays, pellets (alfalfa), barley, peas (screenings, whole, split), corn, oats,

distilled grains and meals (soybean, canola, cottonseed meals) are common sources of

protein for goat rationing.

CONCLUSION

I therefore conclude that attending or joining a OJT is the most enjoyable things

that I’ve experienced. The hands-on work experience interns garner during the OJT is simply

invaluable and cannot be earned in a classroom setting. Generally, trainees get the opportunity to

apply the knowledge acquired in school in a real work environment. I’ve experienced a lot of

things that it challenges me; and by the help of ILOCOS SUR, COMMUNITY COLLEGE,

Barangay DEMO FAM, I faced those challenges and I overcome it. I know that I’m not that

skilled enough but I’m very thankful because in this OJT I’ve learned a lot. Also, having a

positive environment and unity can lead to success.
