    Adding 4-digit numbers without Regrouping.

    We first
    arrange the numbers one below the other in place value
    columns and then add the digits under each column. Let’s
    add 3112 and 2160
    Step I: Add the ones. 2 + 0 = 2. Write 2 in ones column.
    Step II: Add the tens. 1 + 6 = 7. Write 7 in tens column.
    Step III: Add the hundreds. 1 + 1 = 2. Write 2 in
    hundreds column.
    Step IV: Add the thousands. 3 + 2 = 5. Write 5 in
    thousands column

    Hence, 3112 + 2160= 5272
