Firstly, he hoped to provide relief for the poor and the unemployed. Then he also wanted
the economy to recover to its normal levels. And finally, he aimed to reform the financial
systems so that an economic depression would not occur again.
2. Explain the 2 parts of the New Deal (the first New Deal and the Second New Deal).
The New Deal is usually referred to its with two parts. The First New Deal was concerned
with restructuring the country’s economy and offering relief to the bank industry. And the
Second New Deal tried to improve the use of the country’s resources, it provided relief to
the farmers and created various government work programs.
3. What are two agencies created by the New Deal and what did they do for Americans?
The two agencies created by the New Deal are the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
(FDIC) and the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) The first one guaranteed the
safety of money in banks in the case its bank closes. The second agency provides U.S.
farmers with crop insurance protection.
4. What were two criticisms of the New Deal?
These two criticisms view the bad side of the New Deal, and they believed in two different
ways. Some people thought that Roosevelt was carrying the US to the socialism. Other, saw
the New Deal as a waste of money and resources.
