The Baby Boom and
its effects on the
American society
Following the dictionary, the baby boom is
an temporaly increase in the birth rate, which
is noticeable after the Second World War. In
America took place between 1946 and 1964.
The society increased drasticly and the
descendant tastes influenced hardly the
national culture
Effects on different
Baby boomers believed in peace,
they will later begin the hippie
movement, and that is why racism
ethnic groups decreased, but there was still a
leftover of it. But what they had in
common was
consumerism,normalcy in the goods
and services one consumed.
On one hand, boomers weas a
generation that was experiencing
great wealth and new gadgets
development. On the other hand,
they lived fearing the Cold War.
Effects on different
social groups.
In general, there was a change in the way people thought, but
all these started with those who appeared as a consequence of
baby boom.
These baby boomers thought, in contrast with their parents,
that mariage is a way to show mutual love, and the purpose
of this sacrament was not to raise children.
They also were characterised by an open mind, different as
those who were older, although this also happens nowadays.
