Letter of

Recommendation
May 8, 2023

Dear Admissions Committee,

It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Raúl Labarthe, who has decided to take the
important step of furthering his engineering knowledge through a master's degree abroad. As a researcher
at the Institute of Scientific Research (IDIC) at the University of Lima, I had the privilege of having Raúl as a
research intern on my team in 2013.

During his time in the laboratory, Raúl demonstrated himself to be a talented student. His work focused on
the treatment of dyes in water using the technique of photooxidation, using activated carbon and lithium
oxide as catalysts. Raúl was responsible for conducting experiments in which water samples were taken
and the degree of dye degradation was measured using a spectrometer. His work helped graph the
evolution of the dye degradation process, which was essential for evaluating the effectiveness of the
treatment.

Throughout his work, Raúl demonstrated a solid understanding of the fundamental scientific knowledge
required to perform complex experiments. His ability to work independently and collaboratively makes him a
good candidate for any master's program that requires foundations in the natural sciences, a high level of
technical skills, research ability, and dedication.

I am confident that Raúl is capable of handling the demands of this graduate program. If given the
opportunity, I know he will be a valuable asset to the program and will make a significant contribution to the
field of sustainable energy and engineering.

If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,

Javier Quino Favero jquinof@ulima.edu.pe
