Frankl outlines three specific things that give life meaning:

…the meaning of life always changes, but it never ceases to be. According to logotherapy,
we can discover this meaning in life in three different ways: 1. By creating a work or doing a
deed; 2. By experiencing something or encountering someone; 3. By the attitude we take
toward unavoidable suffering.

For Frankl, the meaning of life isn’t prescribed. It’s created.

Each person’s life has its own unique, context-specific meaning. We may give meaning to
our lives by creating, by experiencing, and by choosing our response to a situation, but it
is we who must give that meaning.
