My view on section 1and 2 of the Republic Act no. 1425 is that it is just right
to take this course as mandatory, knowing that this is part of us Filipinos.
Through studying the works of Rizal, Filipinos would have a sense of
accomplishment and they would feel very proud of their country and their
heritage, which would lead to nationalism and unification of the country. With
this, I would like to state that I am for this particular law because of all the
benefits that it can give to the country. It is also important, I believe, for a
country to not forget the culture and heritage that they have through the
years, but rather treasure the history of the country to help make the country
better for the next generation.

RA 1425 or also known as Rizal law was enacted in1956 and sponsored by
Jose P. Laurel. It was promulgated because it can be really a big help when it
comes to the different sectors herein the country. And it has different views
about those sectors. In terms of academics, RA 1425 paves way for the Filipino
students to have learnings on Rizal’s life which is good. Having this as part of
our education system educates students to impart patriotism at all times and
knows what Rizal did as a hero and Filipino citizen. In which students can see
him as a role model and eventually those youth can be our next hero because
they became inspired with the doings of Rizal. Next, promulgation of it can
develop our social aspect.

On the part of considering the academic, my opinion on this is that it is

appropriate to require this course because it is a part of who we Filipinos are.
Studying Rizal's writings would give Filipinos a sense of accomplishment and
make them very proud of their homeland and heritage, which would foster
nationalism and lead to the unification of the country. In light of all the
advantages that this law can provide for the nation, I support this.
Additionally, there’s really a need for a nation to preserve its history in order
to improve it for future generations rather than forgetting its culture and
traditions.
