DAILY LEARNING LOG

Write an analysis of today’s experience, addressing three main questions:

1. What was the most useful part of today’s learning?
The Early Childhood Education Approaches were really helpful and can be applied to multiple learners
and scenarios in the classroom. These approaches provide in depth knowledge to practically apply
them in daily teaching and learning process.

2. Pertinent to my teaching, what else would I like to learn?

I would love to read the extended reading links to learn about the developments in the formulated
theories over the period of time and how well they fit in today's technology-oriented world. The
reflective models also provide an insight into how well we can improve with each passing day.
Extension to these models will be something great to learn.
3. What would I change in my teaching approach on the basis of today’s learning?
The Early Childhood Theories provide a wide range of strategies to be implemented for the need-based
leaners. The differentiated tasks can well be designed in the light of the knowledge gained from these
theories. More student-centered classes with defined set of rules can be designed for testing and
experimentation under our local circumstances and the results can be read in order to plan ahead.

4. Share your views regarding the ECC approach which you would like the most and why. (Write 30 –
40 words)

I liked the high scope approach because it encompasses all the major areas of learning. For example it
emphasizes a lot on plan-do-review. This way all the aspects of teaching learning are focused where
planning is done according to the curriculum, students' needs and interest. The implementation part
identifies the missing bridges and resources in this process and finally the review part enables the
learners to reflect upon the learning.
5. Select any one ECE approach, relate it with your current teaching practices. List what would you like to add further to enhance your teaching

practices.

[Hint: Write about additional resources in the classroom, new teaching methods etc. which you would like to explore and experiment?]

High scope approach is mainly used in the classrooms but in a different aspect. In reality the teacher
plans and carries out the lesson, however the review is done mutually by the learners and the teacher.
At times we do give liberty to students to plan a task in a group, carry it out and then review it, but i
think this self reliance and group tasking should be made more frequent so that the creativity and the
skills of the learners can be assessed. Based on this assessment further plan of action can be devised
where the needed skills can be enhanced. self assessment is an important tool which can be used by
the teacher to actually know about the level of understanding of the learners.
