By purchasing and/or displaying this permit I make the following formal declaration:
the vehicle is safe for use on a highway, road and road related; it is not registered; it is not a statutory
write-off; and is not subject to a Sherriff's Office sanction.
I am aware that providing false information and/or misleading information or documents is a serious
offence under the Road Safety Act 1986 that could result in penalties including fines and imprisonment. I
understand that any permit issued to me based on false information could be invalid which could result
in further liabilities and penalties.
I declare that the information that I have provided is true and correct, and I acknowledge that this
declaration is legally effective, even without my signature.
Conditions of use
1. The vehicle must be safe to use on highways including road and road related areas.
2. You must affix this permit to the bottom left-hand corner of the vehicle's windscreen if the vehicle will be left
unattended in public, or if you will be unable to electronically provide the permit.
3. If the vehicle is over-size or over-mass (OSOM) it will require an OSOM permit as well as an Unregistered Vehicle Permit.
4. You cannot use an unregistered vehicle permit for a vehicle for social or domestic purposes. You may only use this
permit for one of the following permitted purposes:

To drive from place of acquisition to the residential or garage address nominated on the permit.
To use the vehicle in daytime between sunrise and sunset in the course of obtaining any necessary repairs,
modifications or testing to obtain a Certificate of Roadworthiness, a Vehicle Identity Validation certificate or a Vehicle
Assessment Signatory Scheme Approval Certificate, or to meet the requirements of the Road Safety (Vehicles)
Regulations 2021.
To take the vehicle for the purposes of registration to a VicRoads Customer Service Centre or VicRoads Agency. This
includes taking the vehicle to have identification numbers stamped, as directed by a VicRoads officer, and includes
directly returning to the garage or residential address if the registration process is unable to be completed after
attending VicRoads.
*Note: For use on highways, road and road related areas including car parks, access roads and other areas that are
open to be driven on by the public.

When a permit has started, it cannot be extended. If additional time is required, you must apply for a new permit. Refunds are not provided when the
start date has commenced. To make changes to a permit prior to its start date contact VicRoads, Tel: 13 1171.
Privacy Information
Personal information VicRoads collects from you may be used for the purposes, and disclosed to persons, permitted by section 7b of the Road Safety
Act 1986. It may be disclosed to various organisation and persons, including (without limitation) to contractors and agents of VicRoads, law
enforcement agencies, other road and traffic authorities, the Transport Accident Commission, vehicle manufacturers (for safety recalls), road safety
researchers, courts and other organisations or people authorised to collect it. You are required to provide this personal information. Failure to
provide this information may result in this application not being processed, or records not being properly maintained. For further information about

Varying/Revoking Permit
VicRoads may decide to vary the conditions of this permit or revoke the permit in accordance with regulation 152 of the Road Safety (Vehicles)
Regulations 2021.
