Social media are computer-based technologies that facilitate the creation and sharing of
information, idea, career interest and other forms of expression via virtual communities and
networks. Social media is about sociology and psychology more than technology.

There are some common features. Ease of Connectivity, Ability to Expand, user Following,
Choosing the Right Platform, Notification and News Feed. Today I am going to present the
influence of social media on youth from both aspects. The positive influence of social media on
youth. Education, Relationships, and Job Opportunities. Always in touch with the world. Social
media as E-commerce is useful as well Awareness and Being informed. The negative influence of
social media on youth. Students have easy, free access to resources online to help them learn.
Increase general knowledge and awareness of students.

Job Opportunities are created as well. Social media sites have created thousands of jobs and new
avenues of income. Enhanced ability to connect with others and form positive relationships with
peers. Increased understanding of the world and positive social behaviors. However, they Spend
less quality time with your beloved ones Effects on physical fitness. Misinformation. Security and
privacy. Increased the Stress. A Waste of Time. The grades of students who are heavy users of
social media tend to suffer. Social networking sites harm employee’s productivity.51% of users
aged 25-34 checked social media at work. When alerted to a new post or tweet, it takes about 20
to 25 minutes for the average user to return to their original task. Awareness of Facebook is close
to 100%. More than 1 billion people. {70% of the internet population} use social networks.400
million people use Facebook daily. Twitter is an American microblogging and Social networking
service on which users post and interact with message known as TWITTER 80% is aware of Twitter,
only 16%is using it. Difficult for new social networks to succeed.

60% does not want any new social networks.93% is happy with what they have and won`t in or
decrease. Enhanced learning opportunities. Power in business. Power on politics. Health
information and issues. Students are using social media to connect with one another on
homework and group project. Some schools successfully use blogs as teaching tools. Social
websites have played an important role in many elections around the world, including in IRAN, U.S
and India. Cyber Bullying and Online Harassment. Online harassment is when a person is
tormented, threatened, harassed, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another person using the
internet on different tools or technologies.

Almost one year ago the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria seized Iraq’s second-largest city. Now ISIS is
using social media to expand its war far beyond its borders. It is up to each user to use social sites
wisely to enhance their professional and social life. For those who can’t, it might be time to turn
off the computer for a bit go for a walk.
