Summary of 4 students who visited SMI Al-Amin on January 12, 2023, in order to gather

information for SMI Al-future Amin's student planning. We have met Mr. Arasy, a teacher

who has been there for 17 years and has developed a deep bond with the students. Mr. Arasy

teaches biology and science to students in forms 2, 3, and 4 in addition to being a certified

counsellor at the Guidance and Counselor Unit. There are 120 students in each batch, making

up the 360 total students in Forms 2, 3, and 4. Students in Forms 4 and 5 have a wide range of

options, including science streams, science accountancy, economy, arts, and sports science.

Each form got a unique assessment of the exam results to assist students. Based on

their exam results, all of the pupils will be switched around. Next, there are seven full-time

counsellors in the guidance and counselling section, and each of them has three assistants.

The council unit was divided into three units: the psychometric unit, which reports directly to

the councillor, the interaction unit, which helps students with behavioural and academic

problems and the DAS Instrument unit, which helps students with stress and anxiety.

At least 20 to 30 percent of students have an issue where they sometimes absent three

months of class. The counselling department decided to visit these students' homes as a

result, and it turned out that they had depression and anxiety in class. In order to assist these

pupils, a hybrid class concept has been proposed.

For students who requested a specific course but whose results did not match, the

counselling unit chose to provide them a probationary period rather than rejecting their

request, giving them a chance to pursue the subject if they are capable of handling it.

Additionally, the counselling department asked for assistance from the professional alumni in

a specified field to provide career guidance to the students.

Besides, students were presented to an appropriate job route by the school counsellor.

For instance, some students still need to do research for their desired courses even though

they aren't sure which path they want to take. The majority of them successfully entered

tertiary education, according to the alumni data that has been gathered, while some of them

run family businesses. There were also individuals who had no interest in continuing their

education. And those without work establish their own jobs in order to make money.

Furthermore, the counselling section has made an effort by constantly creating an

awareness about IPT interviews and scholarships to students. Also, they invited colleges to

volunteer to conduct a roadshow about the programmes they provide at university. However,

certain students only want to work and are not interested in continuing their education in

which they have never taken an exam. The counsellor assists these students by guiding them

in finding universities that are appropriate for them.

After SPM, students continued to engage in activities including batch programmes and

international explorace. Last but not least, there are no financial or transportation issues for

M40 or T20 students. However, because some of their parents work abroad, it is difficult for

the counsellor to meet with them.
