F&B venues
• Energy awareness program where guests have access to live feedback of
their water and energy consumption data via Guest Room tablet
• Incentivizing guests to generate a certain energy target via cycling in the
Wellness & Fitness Center for a Paramount Hotels & Resorts voucher or

Ghassan Aridi acquired the rights to create Paramount
Hotels & Resorts from the Viacom group in March 2012 and
the company launched in April 2012. Aridi is CEO of Alpha
Tours LLC, a leading Dubai-based destination management
company, which he founded in 1995.
He is also Chairman of GAA Marta Consulting, a tourism
and hospitality development consultancy that advises
governments, destinations and resorts around the world.
Notably, this consultancy facilitated a US$1.5 billion
Paramount Theme Park and Resort for the city of Murcia in
Spain. Born in Lebanon and a graduate of the University de
Tourismo in Spain, Aridi has 30 years of experience in
tourism and the tourism development industry.
Thomas van Vliet guides development and fundraising
activities to create up to 50 themed hotels and resorts around
the world, under the Paramount Hotels & Resorts brand.
Van Vliet has held leadership positions in major hospitality
companies for almost 30 years and brings extensive expertise
in developing and operating both hotels and resorts across
Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Pacific regions.
Previously, van Vliet acquired twenty years of hospitality,
knowledge and management skills at Accor and, more
recently, with Sofitel and Swiss-Belhotel International.
A graduate of Hilversum College in The Netherlands, van
Vliet went on to study finance management at Cornell
University in Ithaca, USA.
