A. Do you agree with the title of this article that the hotel concierge is dead? Why or why not?

I agree with the article's title since it states that just because there is a question mark, it doesn't always
mean that the job of the concierge is no longer necessary. The article also discusses why it is crucial to
have a concierge in a hotel and whether or not they are still necessary.

B. In your perspective, what do you think is the significance of the hotel concierge’s role to the overall
satisfaction of guests? Provide an example to support your answer

The Concierge's main duty is to help visitors with everything they require, such as arranging dinner
reservations or obtaining tickets for special events; they frequently serve as the guests' personal
assistants while they are staying at the hotel. Concierges are present in all varieties of lodging facilities,
ranging from hotels to resorts and everything in between.                                                               
Example: Communicating with the Guest: Serving as the hotel's point of contact, answering the guest's
questions, and ensuring that all information provided to the guest is up-to-date and accurate. They
typically work for wealthy travelers to whom they offer their specialized skills and advice.

C. In your opinion, do we still need hotel concierge services here in the Philippines despite the
advances in technology and the usage of the Internet? Why or why not? Cite examples to support
your answer.

We still require hotel concierge services because, as stated in the article, they make sure that everything
runs properly even when there are technical difficulties. The use of technology in the hospitality sector
allows for an efficient and comfortable stay for hotel guests. The use of smart technologies, such as
smartphones and tablets, has significantly enhanced hotel guests' involvement as they have grown more
self-assured.
For example: Taking away the customer's pain, for instance: While concierges are best known for
stepping in to remedy issues or deliver unexpected rewards, true concierge service involves taking away
pain from a situation that would otherwise be uncomfortable. A concierge-level claims service is
supposedly provided by Progressive Insurance. Auto repairs frequently involve numerous phone calls,
protracted waits for responses from all parties, and numerous delays. With Progressive, you can leave
your car at one of their service locations and let them handle the rest, including creating estimates,
setting up body shop repairs, and obtaining a rental car if necessary. Because of this, running a superior
hotel service still requires a concierge service.
