Upcycling our LTA is embarking on a journey to upcycle parts from our soon-to-be scrapped MRT trains, Physical: Engineering 8 Sep 2023,
MRT Trains with the aim to raise awareness on the values of upcycling and to reduce waste generated to Workshop with Hands-on 9 am – 12 pm
landfills as part of Singapore’s Green Plan 2023. Activities

We are currently extracting train parts such as seats, grab poles and straphangers to be
repurposed into usable items for the community.

Join us for this unique hands-on experience and get a chance to see our trains up close!
Learn about the parts of our train and the basic “know-how” to operate some of our tools
used to maintain our trains!
Visit to A learning journey to Downtown Line’s Gali Batu Depot for a glimpse Singapore’s fifth MRT Physical: Learning Journey 22 September
Downtown Line’s line is daily behind-the-scenes operations. The journey includes visit the Operation Control 2023, 2 – 5 pm
Gali Batu Depot Centre, Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) Simulation Facility (CSF), and Train
Workshop.
