The entries from August 4, 1943 through October 29, 1943 commence with Anne

recounting their usual and difficult daily life in the Secret Annex. She emphasizes
that the whole routine of their daily life in Secret Annex is significantly different
from what ordinary people do in everyday life. Anne also characterizes the
residents of the Secret Annex in a very funny way, rather than in a complimentary
manner. Miep gives Anne a new pair of high-heeled shoes. She also says that she
had a rough day as a result of her clumsy actions, which resulted in her hurting
her finger, toe, and head. Mr. Dussel put the lives of the people of the Secret
Annex to danger by asking Miep to buy him a book that is banned which is an
Anti- Mussolini book. Meanwhile, Italy capitulated from the war and by it she was
happy. But her happiness didn’t last long because Mr. Kleiman goes to the
hospital to undergo stomach operation. Anne tells us that she is taking a valerian
for medication to her depression everyday. Later on, everyone worries not only
the people of the Secret Annex but also its defenders because of a warehouse
employee who is becoming suspicious about the Secret Annex. Bep has a fit of
nerves because so many of the other "defenders of the annex" are sick that most
of the care and errands for the Secret Annex people became her responsibility.
She is doing too much work. The entries of August 4, 1943 to October 29, 1943
ends with Anne losing her appetite and is feeling generally awful and oppressed
because of the Secret Annex and its people.

The set of entries makes me very sad, happy and amused. I was sadden because
of Anne having a depression because of her companions in the secret Annex. I
was also sadden because the defenders of the Annex are all sick and that Bep is
only the one who is being responsible for the people of the Annex. I was also sad
because the people of Annex is starting to not getting along. I was happy because
the Italy is surrendered and that their hopes of being freed from hiding in the
annex will become true. I was also amused because of how Anne described the
people of the Annex. This entry still makes me enjoy and because of it I still
wanted to read more.
