The Noro Model of Communication is an interactive type of communication that was

inspired by Schramm's model of communication. While it adapted some of the elements of

Schramm's model, the Noro Model of Communication has a distinct framework of its own.
This model has ten key elements that are involved in the process of communication, which
includes the affecting factors of interpretation such as the current mood, feelings,
personality, and educational background, as well as the factors that influence the message
of the sender, interpretation, encoding, decoding, medium, barrier, message/feedback, the
sender and the receiver.
In the Noro Model of Communication, when a sender generates an idea or
information, it is always influenced and considered according to their communication skills,
attitude, knowledge, social system, and culture before it is processed into the encoding
stage. During the encoding process, the information and ideas are converted into a
message, which is then transmitted through a medium of choice. However, before a
message can be received by the receiver, it is very prone to a barrier, which can be in the
form of language barriers, inclusion barriers, cultural barriers, or environmental barriers.
If the message passes the barrier successfully, then the decoding and interpretation
process of the receiver begins. In this process, the interpretation of the message may
depend on factors such as the current mood, feelings, personality, and educational
background of the receiver. After the interpretation process, the receiver will then generate
an idea or information to make a feedback, taking into account their communicational
skills, attitude, knowledge, social system, culture, and the perceived meaning of the
message sent by the sender. This information or idea will then be processed in the encoding
stage, similar to the sender's message.
After the encoding stage, the feedback will be produced and transmitted through the
medium. Again, before it can be decoded by the sender, it may encounter a barrier. If the
feedback passes the barrier, the sender will decode and interpret the feedback based on the
factors that affect its interpretation. If the sender decides to respond to the feedback, then
the cycle of this communication model will be seen.
The Noro Model of Communication aims to provide a more comprehensive and
interactive framework for communication, which takes into account the various factors that
affect communication and emphasizes the importance of feedback and mutual
understanding between the sender and receiver. By utilizing this model, individuals and
organizations can communicate more effectively, leading to better outcomes and more
meaningful interactions.
