01. i. Briefly explain the dynamic characteristics of the communication process.

Mainly we can identify 4 key dynamic characteristics of the communication process. Those
are,

• Communication is transactional
• Communication is irreversible
• Communication is inevitable
• Communication is multidimensional

The first dynamic characteristic that is communication is transactional. Communication is the

exchange of messages between the sender and the recipient. Here both the sender and the
receiver are called communicators and their role in the communication process is always
reversed as both the sending and receiving process take place simultaneously.

This dynamic feature has a communication model, which is called a transactional model of
communication. The transaction model is a continuous change and transformation process that
changes every aspect of people, their environment and the medium used. Because of this,
communicators are assumed to act independently and in whatever way they want.

In a communication system, both the sender and the receiver are required to send the message,
so the communicators also depend on each other. For example, transactions cannot be
communicated if the recipient does not listen.

Communication is also irreversible. There is no way to erase a word, phrase or criticism from
someone's memory after it has been uttered or an impassioned text message or e - mail has
been sent. Since communication is unavoidable, one should always be aware of what they are
communicating to others. For example, when angry, a person may have to say something that
offends him, and even if an apology is made, the other person will still remember the hurtful
words that affected it.

This principle is very important in corporate communication. As co-workers, colleagues and

managers, you want to ensure that your message is delivered clearly without offending anyone.
Even if you associate with someone you work with, you still need to respect them
professionally. Talking too fast can damage your job relationship. This can lead to weak
teamwork and adversely affect work. "The messages we send affect future communication as
well as the nature of our relationships with others." The most important thing to remember is

2|P age
that we can regret what we have said, apologize, but we cannot delete or retrieve anything we
have said.

The third dynamic feature is that communication is unavoidable. In fact, communication is

unavoidable, which means that when there are other people on the scene, even if someone is
reluctant to communicate with others, they somehow communicate with them in some way. It
is a form of communication in which one ignores another or even refuses to communicate with
them. For example, a child who is forced to go to a dinner party at a father's friend's house may
be worried about not wanting to communicate with anyone, but while he is at the dinner party,
he may still be able to avoid communicating through his body language. This is why it is
important to note that communication does not necessarily have to be verbal; It can also take a
non-verbal form.

The fourth dynamic feature is the multidimensionality of human communication. When

communication takes place it happens on two levels. One level can be characterized as a
dimension and the other as a relationship dimension. In human communication these two
dimensions are inextricably linked. The content dimension of communication refers to the
words, language, and information in a message; The dimension of the relationship refers to the
profile of a message that defines how participants in an interaction relate to each other.

To explain the two dimensions, consider the following hypothetical statement made by a
teacher to a child: "Understand this lesson well". The content of this message means that the
lesson is well understood, the dimension of the connection in this message is directed by the
teacher's attitude and feelings towards the child. Since only the content can be interpreted in
different ways, the relationship dimension indirectly suggests how the dimension of the content
should be interpreted.

ii. Describe the components of communication process using the contemporary model of
communication

The communication process is a series of actions or steps taken to communicate successfully.

It includes several elements such as the sender of the communication, the actual message being
sent, the encryption of the message, the recipient and the decoding of the message. There are
also various communication channels to consider in the communication process. This refers to
how a message is sent. The overall purpose of the communication process is to present

information to an individual or party and make them understand it. The sender must select the
most appropriate medium for the successful operation of the communication process.

The initiator: The sender is the initiator of the communication process that initiates the action
procedure by sending a message or information. Therefore, the sender is a significant
component of the communication process. The sender has some kind of information - an order,
a request, a question or an idea - that he or she wants to present to others. In order to receive
that message, the sender must first encrypt the message in a comprehensible way, such as using
a common language or industrial application, and then transmit it.

Encoding: Encoding means translating abstract ideas and ideas into symbols such as words,
pictures, signs and symbols. A symbol can represent or represent ideas, expressions, and
actions. Encoding is the process of converting subject to code. The encoding process involves
the sender and the receiver.

Message: It is the most important part of communication. The message contains the
information, ideas, feelings, opinions, thoughts, attitudes and vision that the sender needs to
convey to the recipient. Message seems to be a key component of any communication process.
As always, the sender wants to send the message to communicate with the recipient. Therefore,
senders must ensure that the main purpose of the message is clear and understandable.
Messages can be sent by verbal and non-verbal signals. Verbal signals are the spoken language
of the speaker, for example spoken words. Examples of nonverbal communication, on the other
hand, are facial expressions, eye contact, physical appearance, posture, and gestures.

Decoding: Decoding, unlike coding, is the process of translating a symbol into a language that
is generally understandable. In this process, the recipient converts the code into thoughts

received from the sender. Decoding is the opposite process of encryption to get the meaning of
the message.

The interpreter: The interpreter is the person who receives the message. Therefore, the
receiver is the viewer of the communication process that is decoded to understand the meaning
of the message. The sender will certainly send a message targeting the subscriber. Recipients
can be an individual or a group of individuals or a large population. Here the way the interpreter
understands the message depends on the knowledge and experience of the recipient.

Channel: A channel is a method or tool for transmitting a message. It is also known as the
means of communication that transmits the message from the sender to the recipient.
Communicators use different channels to communicate in different communication contexts.
In face-to-face communication, the sender's senses, such as hearing, seeing, smelling, touching,
and tasting, are the transmission channel. It is also an important part of the communication
process. Organizations, on the other hand, use television, newspapers, and radio as channels to
disseminate information. People use computers and cell phones to communicate with people
who live far away from each other. All of this is a medium of communication.

Feedback: Feedback is the response of the recipient or audience. It is a key component of a

successful communication process as it allows the sender to analyze the success of the message.
The decoder also helps the sender to confirm the correct interpretation of the message.
Feedback can be verbal (verbal) or non-verbal (smile, sigh, etc.). It is also available in written
form from memoirs, records, etc. Feedback is also an important part of communication.

Noise: Noise means barriers to communication or barriers to effective communication.

Communication sounds are present in all forms of communication. In fact, sounds are
unwanted communication elements that distract the receiver from receiving the message.

Context: Context is the communication environment in which the interaction takes place or
takes place. Communication context is a key component of every communication process that
controls the communication process between sender and recipient. This context can be
physical, psychological, social, chronological, historical or cultural.

2. Explain the importance of effective interpersonal skills, speaking skills and critical
thinking skills in education processes for a student who attends any education program.

Communication is the giving, receiving and sharing of information. It simply means speaking
or writing and listening or reading. Good communicators listen well, speak, write, and respect
different opinions. Communication skills as one of the most important skills a student should
have.

Powerful communication skills enable children to interact face to face and in the Internet world.
Having good communication skills enables you to use social media responsibly, to model
positive communication and to have healthy communication. Interpersonal skills, speaking
skills and critical thinking skills are the most important skills to develop strong communication
skills.

Interpersonal skills are the ability to interact with people through effective listening and
communication. These skills include listening, verbal communication, non-verbal
communication, team working, creative thinking. It is important for students to have
interpersonal skills as it is useful for people to connect with and also for their personality
development. Generally, students learn interpersonal skills at school with their teachers and
classmates. Moreover, a participant in any kind of educational program in the world must have
interpersonal skills.

Another important skill that students should have is the speaking skills. The ability to speak
confidently and fluently develops in school children and is something that will help them in all
academic as well as professional activities throughout their lives. Speech skills are defined as
skills that allow us to communicate effectively. They give us the ability to provide information
orally and in a way that the listener can understand. Therefore, it is important to develop both
speaking and listening skills in order to communicate effectively. We need to have good
vocabulary and care about grammar, pronunciation and voice in developing speaking skills.
Interpersonal skills as well as speaking skills are very important for any student to
communicate with teachers and friends today.

We can identify many benefits from interpersonal skills and speaking skills. Basically, if a
student has any doubts about a subject, it can be removed only when they communicate with
the teacher. Also, any concept that is understood can only be explained by talking to the teacher.
Furthermore, these interpersonal skills and speaking skills are also very important to have a
good relationship with the relevant teacher. These skills are important to develop their faith

6|P age
and personality, to appreciate the diversity of society, individual dignity and different customs,
and to be a morally respectable person with better soft skills.

Critical thinking is also a very important learning skill that teaches students to ask or meditate
on their own understanding and knowledge of the information presented. Critical thinking is
especially important for students who have been given an assignment and need to do in-depth
research on the given topic. It also eventually helps in the workplace.

Simply put, critical thinking is simply questioning the ability to comprehend things and the
possible consequences of actions. This generation of students is largely surrounded by a vast
environment of information from online sources and it is very clear that they have a great need
to learn to evaluate what they are studying and listening to and to identify false information
beyond superficial data. There are a number of advantages to a student in developing critical
thinking, such as better learning skills and developing empathy for the opinions of others.

A person with well-developed critical thinking questions the information given, rejects
unreliable or non-scientific arguments and examines the sources of information. It also enables
them to think correctly and solve problems more efficiently and systematically. This will give
great strength to any career chosen by the student. As a student strives to develop critical
thinking, it enhances the ability to express ideas effectively and critical thinking encourages
students to be creative. Rather than relying entirely on classroom learning and teachers for
complete guidance and instruction, critical thinking allows students to become more reliable
and independent learners. It also gives you the ability to think logically and make decisions
instead of letting go of emotions when making a decision. Finally, critical thinking also helps
students to understand the ideas and perspectives of others and to increase their ability to work
as a team.

Students' these skills contribute not only to their education / school life but also to their career.
As students' these skills develop at school, it becomes part of their behavior and helps them to
interact with people from different walks of life. Hence, interpersonal skills, speaking skills
and critical thinking skills increase chances of employability and a successful career and life.
