1. Purpose
- This guide explains how to perform the short- and mid-term cleaning actions of the protective
glass in the chamber of Mysint100 and Mysint300 machines.
2. Tool required
- Protective glass cleaning kit cod TS89000095 (already included in the machine Mysint100 R4.0
and Mysint300 R1.1)
- Acetone (it is not included in the kit, customer has to buy it by himself)
- Clean air blower (it is not included in the kit, customer has to buy it by himself)
Description UM Quantity
Cleanroom wipe 9"x11" presatured 70%IPA/30%d-water (30pcs) CF 10
Cleaning optical tissue (nr.25x50pz) - Thorlabs MC-50E NR 2
2.3. Acetone
- The customer must provide by himself the required Acetone, that must meet the following
specifications.
3. Cleaning procedure
- Wear natural latex gloves provided in the Protective glass cleaning Kit.
- During the Mid- and Long-term cleaning actions, before beginning to clean with the wipes/tissues,
always blow some clean air to remove big dirt/dust particles from the glass. Don’t use the air
blow inside the chamber (short-term action).
- The isopropanol wipes must be used once per time without acetone making a “soft bubble”.
Never use the wipes more than one time.
- The cleaning tissues (Thorlabs) must be used 3-4 pieces per time drenched with acetone making a
“soft bubble”. This operation could be done more than once.
Never use the same tissues more than one time.
- In both cleaning cases it’s necessary use a concentric clockwise motion, moving from the middle
of the glass to its borders (draw a spiral path on the glass starting from the center of it).
Figure 2 - Wet the "bubble" with Acetone only with the Thorlabs tissues.
PROTECTIVE GLASS
START
END
- The procedure obtains a remarkably superior result if the operator checks at every step with the
small flashlight included in the “Protective glass cleaning Kit”. The best results are obtained if the
flashlight is put at a correct angle, to obtain a “raking” light reflection:
- If the glass after one cleaning action is still like in Figure 4, repeat the operation with the Thorlabs
tissues until it gets clean (Figure 5).
- Once the job ends, remove the substrate and clean by the vacuum cleaner the whole process-
chamber.
- Follow the “Cleaning procedure” described at Chapter 3
- Clean the process-chamber as well as possible by the vacuum cleaner and the cleaning wipes for
powder and then remove the protective glass frame.
- Once removed, close immediately the hole left by the frame in the process chamber using the
optical tape included in the “Protective glass cleaning kit” to protect the optical parts above.
- On a desk (better in a clean room), clean the bottom side of the protective glass following the
procedure described in Chapter 3.
- Make a visual check (if there are some little dust particles, help yourself with a clean air blower)
and if it is clean close it with the optical tape.
o If it is damaged by the laser or you can scratch on the protective glass surface, please
replace it.
- Then clean the opposite side (upper) following the procedure described in Chapter 3.
SISMA SPA – Via dell’Industria,1 – 36013 PIOVENE ROCCHETTE (VI) Italy
- Make a visual check and if damaged, replace it, otherwise mount it in the chamber.
- Once mounted remove the optical tape.
- Clean the process-chamber as well as possible by the vacuum cleaner and the cleaning wipes for
powder and then remove the protective glass frame
- Once removed, close immediately the hole left by the frame in the process chamber using the
optical tape included in the “Protective glass cleaning kit” to protect the optical parts above.
- On a desk (possibly in a clean room), remove the flange that blocks the glass and remove the old
protective glass from the black x-ring.
- Clean the bottom side of the new protective glass following the procedure described in Chapter 3.
- Mount the new protective glass inside the black x-ring and place in his position, close the flange,
could be worthy blow again some clean air before close with the optical tape.
- Clean the protective glass on the other side (upper) following the procedure described in Chapter
3, then mount the flange with the new protective glass on the machine.
- Remove the optical tape.
- Once the job ends, remove the substrate and clean by the vacuum cleaner the whole process-
chamber.
- Follow the “Cleaning procedure” described at Chapter 3.
- Pay attention to perform the spiral path on the protective glass, even if it is rectangular.

- Remove the optical tape.

6.1. Short-term action
Necessary each time you open the door (to avoid losing the process chamber inertization)
- When you open the doors, clean with the vacuum cleaner the whole work-chamber.
- Clean the protective glass following the procedure described in Chapter 3.
- Clean the process-chamber as well as possible by the vacuum cleaner and the cleaning wipes for
powder and then remove the protective glass frame.
- Once removed, close immediately the hole left by the frame in the chamber with the closing cap
included in starter kit to protect the optical parts above.
- On a desk (better in a clean room), clean the bottom side of the protective glass following the
procedure described in Chapter 3.
- Make a visual check (if there are some little dust particles, help yourself with a clean air blower)
and if it is clean close it with the optical tape.
