Assumptions
V= 11.89m/s - v=x2/t2=8.2/.69

Vo= 0 - the initial velocity was equal to zero because the ball wasn’t moving before it was thrown.

V̅= 5.94 m/s - 11.89/2 =V̅

t= .163 seconds - .97/5.94 - the initial time in the video

t2= .697 seconds - we measured the time in the air in the video

X= 11.8 m- we got the distance from where Maisie let go of the ball to where the ball ended.

X2= 8.2 m- we used a meter stick and measured the length from where Maisie began the throw to the spot where
the ball landed.

yo=2.028m - we measured the height from the ground to the point where Maisie held the ball.

y2=0m - that is the base height, which was the ground

m= 116.3 g- we weighed the ball on a scale.

Analytical Modeling: Solving for Impulse
We used the following equations to solve for the impulse of the ball.

First, we found mv₁: mass × the final velocity, then mass times initial velocity: mv.
After, we subtracted mv from mv₁ to get this equation, including our answer for
impulse.
