documentation solution for PC & iPad, which offers you the latest electronic maintenance documentation
set. This article provides information on how to get started with the new FIELD 6 application and details
its new features.

1. WHAT IS FIELD 6?

FIELD 6 is the solution developed by Dassault Aviation that allows users to:
- Navigate through of the maintenance documentation set, Basic & Supplemental
- Take benefit of all the advantages of the digital documentation from Dassault Aviation
- Get access anywhere, anytime on iOS and Windows.

Key features of FIELD 6:

• A comprehensive set of maintenance documentation (basic & supplemental)


• Available both on Windows OS (FIELD Desktop) and iPad (FIELD Touch)
• Available Online or in local mode (Synchronized) as backup or for remote operations
• More efficient filtering and advanced search capabilities
• Self-subscription management on the Falcon Portal
• Ability to administrate your tokens on the Falcon Portal
• Work card initial capability with FIELD Card
• Intuitive navigation capabilities that fits your device.

a) The FIELD 6 Intranet mode is available. This mode, which consists in installing a FIELD Server
(FIELD Shell) onto the customer’s server linked to Dassault Aviation server, is compatible with both
Windows and Linux servers. This new option has many advantages such as:
• Simultaneous unlimited devices accesses
• No Falcon Portal credential required for client station
• Only FIELD Server is connected to the Dassault Aviation server via Internet, and Client stations
connect to the FIELD server installed locally on the company’s server

b) What is FIELD Card?

FIELD Card is a step-signing functionality included in FIELD 6, which is intended to


maintenance teams in order to prepare, monitor and validate their aircraft maintenance operations.

2. EVOLUTIONS

A new FIELD 6 browser version 4.3.11 is available. It will be automatically updated at your next
connection for desktop version (PC) or through an update from the App store for iOS version. This
browser version introduces several fixes such as:

 Export pdf - zoom factor and font size


 Wiring Diagram – wire highlight selection
 Etc

And Improvements:
 Capacity to connect iPad to local server for intranet mode

3. PREREQUISITE FOR FIELD 6 INSTALLATION

Before installing FIELD 6, make sure your PC meets the following requirements:
 Operating system: Windows 7 64 bits (minimum)
 Processor: Intel 2.8 GHz (Quad-Core)
 RAM: 8 GB
 Hard Disk: 250 GB
 Graphics: Chipset video minimum — 3D graphics card with 256 MB memory

 Microsoft Framework 4.6.2
 Screen: 22" (minimum) FULL HD — 1920 x 1080 pixels

Before installing FIELD Touch, make sure your iPad meets the following requirements:
 FIELD Touch App size: around 150MB
 Requires iOS14 minimum
 Compatible with iPad including iPad mini® and iPad Pro®
 Make sure to have enough storage available on your IPad, especially for multiple
collections.

NOTE: Before starting to download collections, make sure to have a sufficiently fast and stable internet
connection. The App must be opened and active when downloading. For an optimal experience, we
recommend a minimum speed of 15 Mbps for online mode and 80 Mbps for synchronized mode.

4. SUBSCRIPTIONS UPDATE

A FIELD 6 standard subscription grants the subscribing company 30 tokens for device accesses to
a collection. An administrator within the company is able to manage the allocation of tokens to its user’s
devices and to delegate these tokens to a third party account/company if needed. See the Quick Start
Guide available on the Falcon Portal.

FIELD 6 Intranet mode “all collections” is available through a dedicated subscription, which allows
for the installation of main and back up FIELD 6 Servers on the subscribing company Information
System. In addition, the intranet mode subscription allows for additional individual tokens purchase for
off-base FIELD 6 online utilization.

FIELD 6 standard subscription and Intranet mode do not include USB drives. However, FIELD 6
Additional USB keys remain available as an additional option.
