Senior Essay

“The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time
we fall” - Nelson Mandela. I chose this quote because it has always inspired
and motivated me to never give up through the challenges of life and to push to
accomplish my goals.

My name is Isaiah Hernandez and I’m Garza’s newest graduate. Before my

time here at Garza, my previous high schools never seemed willing to help me
resolve my issues or answer the questions I had. My teachers at Garza have
been one of the best educators I’ve had in my entire time in school and have
always welcomed me with kindness and open arms. During my time here at
Garza, I’ve met some of the most motivated and influential people in my life
who continually believe in me and what I will accomplish in this world. They all
seem to recognize my strengths and resilience to succeed in life and how I
managed to go against all odds to achieve my goals.

I would like to give a shoutout to Mr.Cook for showing me my strength

and resilience to accomplish my goals; Ms.Burrow for always believing in me;
Mr. Moreno for welcoming me here at Garza; Ms. Cadag for motivating me that
anything is possible; and to every wonderful teacher and staff I’ve had the
opportunity to have a conversation with. I would also like to give thanks to
everyone who I’ve had the pleasure to create memories with here at Garza and
will cherish those moments forever.

After I graduate, I plan on attending ACC or trade school in the Fall to

receive my certificate in Automotive Technology and Outpowered Equipment. I
would like to have the opportunity to someday become the CEO of my own
company and make big bucks so I can provide for the family I want to have. I
appreciate and am grateful for everybody who's helped me on my journey.

The quote “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in
rising every time we fall” by Nelson Mandela has always been significant to me
and proves that we must not give up when going through trials and
tribulations but to rise and learn from the failures. I wish good health, luck,
and success to all my peers here at Garza and hope to see y’all again in the
