Kejriwal, Bhushan and Bedi; Troublesome Trio

The three have been prominent members of the Anna Hazare team. They have often proclaimed themselves to be fit enough for the task of fighting corruption, on the basis that they have no skeletons in their own closet. Here is a small synopsis on what the media has been able to dig up till now. Mind you this is not the sum total of their hidden side, but merely the tip of the ice berg. Read and judge for yourself, are they really worth being supported by an entire nation. Let us follow the alphabetical order to read through their ill doings:

Arvind Kejriwal Issued an Income Tax notice a week back, for nonpayment of Rupees 9 Lakh. Reason, pending dues within the department, as bond was not completed at the time of resignation. Kejriwal issues statement claiming no bond breached by him, tenure was rightfully completed in the income tax department. Only then had he filed for a resignation. Income tax department states that resignation has not been accepted till date, and Mr. Kejriwal has been informed about it. It goes further to claim that Mr. Kejriwal is aware of the breach of bond, and is falsely claiming so in front of the entire nation to misuse his public support. Media gets hyperactive and digs up his past as an IT department employee, come across a stunning discovery in the form of a letter. The letter when released to the public sets the story straight, not in favor of Kejriwal though. The letter carries prove of his guilt, as it was written by Kejriwal himself, to the IT department. Written in June of 2007, it carries clear statements where he accepts non completion of bond. Even accepts nonpayment of dues and goes further to ask for a waiver on the amount, on the basis of having worked for public good when he left his designation without completing the bond with the IT department. 24 hours after this information is released to the public, Kejriwal retracts his previous statements of being unaware of any non completion of bond, and switches to ask for a waiver on the similar basis, as were mentioned in the 2007 letter.

He lied in front of the masses and then shamelessly retracted his statement, without even as much as an apology. There is lot that an angry citizen would like to say to him. All I can say is that, it was not expected from him at all.

Kiran Bedi Claimed often during the Ramlila Maidan protests, about her impeccable career and derives all her backing on this basis. Never did she speak about the mishaps or misdemeanors during her professional career. Following are facts from few questions that Karan Thapar wanted to ask her at the end of her career in 2007. She accepted and then refused to turn up, and hence Mr. Thapar had no choice but to share these facts with the public. Kiran Bedi never received the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service nor the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service. The fact contradicts her claim on an exceptional career, unlike most. Bedi failed complete her tenure four times during her career, twice she even left her post without permission for intricate reasons, originated by her own deeds. She didn't complete her tenure as Superintendent of Police in Goa, DIG (Range) in Mizoram, Inspector General (Prisons) Tihar Jail and Inspector General of Police in Chandigarh. The posts that she left without permission were Goa, in 1983, and Mizoram, in 1992. Governor of Mizoram issued an official letter of displeasure against her during her tenure there as the DIG. The letter was issued in context of her leaking information to the press. An early lesson into become a media darling it seems. During her Chandigarh tenure, a letter was received from the administrator by the home ministry. Requesting her removal, as her presence was not in favor of public interest.

There are more skeletons in her closet than in any other member of the Anna team. To use public backing that was gained with incorrect projection of the self is heinous crime to commit against the democratic republic of India. She should be brought to the front, and it should be demanded that she clarify her stand on who she really is, and how much has she actually achieved, at the cost of lies and farce being spread into the masses.

Shanti Bhushan He has been a prominent lawyer and an activist. Very recently Mr. Bhushan has been forced into a slippery spot, with a CD doing to the rounds with a tape that has him conversing about the cash-for-vote scam with Mr. Amar Singh. His claim is that the CD is a fake and his past proves his righteousness. Here are a few aspects of his past that have not been dwelled into, as they have never been highlighted. Bhushan has been the founding vice president of the BJP and has had his vested political interests throughout all his campaigns. The strong ties between the two have only been passed on into the hands of his son Prashant Bhushan, who has been often termed the loud mouth of the Anna team.

He has been the lawyer to Arundhati Roy, who off late has been revealing some bitter truths about him to the public. No factual clash has been provided by Bhushan against Roy. Only blanket statements have been passes. She claimed that their draft was a dangerous piece of legislation, and their protest has been one that hijacked democracy. Bhushan has been the lawyer to Shaukat Hussain Guru - parliament attack accused, and also to several UP Sugar Mills fighting cases against Sugarcane farmers. Shanti Bhushan and Prashant Bhushan have also been alleged to have taken up a property in Allahabad, by evading taxes and merely paying a Lakh for a property worth Crores. He was also allotted out of turn plots by Mayawati. He has also made a fortune by devising a scheme with his own son. The son files PILs against corporate, and Shanti Bhushan makes money fighting them. The most recent involvement of his has been proved by a tape as mentioned earlier. According to recent reports by the Delhi Police, the CD is indeed genuine.

Because so many loopholes are not possible to be highlighted, against someone who has functioned with absolute properness? What is needed are clear answers to the many question that are lingering in the minds of the people of this country. It has even been claimed by one of the Anna team members, that had it been known that there were so many flaws with the Bhushans. They would have never been incorporated in the team.

P.S. The Anna team is not as righteous as they claim or as they have been portrayed to the masses. The few solid truths about Annas team are mentioned above. But one must keep in mind, that there are many more. Ones that have been hidden and will not be conceded by them, till we demand it off them. For example it is not know by many that the entire Anna campaign was largely funded by the Ford foundation based in USA. It has often been known to be a lobbying agency for the CIA.
