People’s Initiative

The plan is to take power from the senate and make them weaker. They
want this because they do not want the senate to have power to make big
choices. People are worried that this plan will hurt democracy. To get
people to sign, some online people are saying they are paying for
signatures. Fe Baldo says she was tricked by this plan. She did not know
what she was signing. This means they are not telling the truth about the
plan and making people sign it. Rep. France Castro says this may lead to
longer terms, giving power to friends, and letting foreign owners control
things. Here's why they really want cha-cha. It could let President
Bongbong Marcos stay longer in office. That's why they're rushing it.
Marcos says it's for bringing in foreign money to help our country grow. But
IBON says more foreign money doesn't mean progress. Many protested
against PI this year. In my view, our government is too corrupt and not
helpful. I disagree with bribing people to sign the petition. The government
should handle more vital matters rather than focusing the PI.
