Pieces of advice to keep healthy:

Importance of sleep:
Sleep is just as important as feeding or doing exercise. The necessity of sleep depends
on the age. For example, adults should sleep between 7 and 9 hours each night. On the
other hand, babies and kids should sleep between 10 and 11 hours and old people
suddenly reduce their sleep hours at night, because they usually take naps in the day.
Thus, a lot of health professionals created in 2008 the National Day of Sleep, which is
celebrated on the third Friday of March each year. Here are some recommendations to
have a improve the quality and hygiene of sleep:
1. Establish a specific period for sleep. Determine the hour of wake up and go to
bed.
2. Diurnal naps should not exceed more than 45 minutes.
3. Avoid excessive intake of alcohol and use of cigarettes 4 hours before sleep.
4. Avoid heavy, spicy or sugar food 4 hours before sleep.
5. Avoid intake of caffeine 6 hours before sleep. This includes coffee, tea, soft
drinks and chocolate.
6. Do exercise daily, but avoid it before sleep.
7. Use comfortable clothes to sleep.
8. Sleep in a bedroom with ventilation and accurate temperature.
9. Avoid any kind of noise and quantity of light.
10. Reserve your bed only for sleep.
It is recommended that adults need between 7 and 9 hours. But what are the effects of
sleeping less hours than this interval? People can experiment with mental and mood
alterations. Sleeping less hours than the recommended could increase incidence in
depression and anxiety. Moreover people are more susceptible to consuming
psychoactive substances. Other alterations are in memory of recent events, attention
and concentration (which increase the risk of accidents). People can also experience
fatigue, metabolic problems (which increase the risk of diabetes type 2) and
cardiovascular problems.

Diet for health: A real and positive impact?

Throughout history humans have changed their costumes regarding food, and even
nowadays depending on the region we are looking at, we can see strongly different
types of dishes and beverages. There has also been some kind of fashioning on what
we consider healthy. For example, some of us tend to think that losing weight equals
health, newly recommended recipes by famous people assure us to be as good looking
as them, or if the majority of people eat it then it will not be dangerous for my health.
These are some of the reasons why consumption of certain meals rises for months or
years until next research demonstrates no real efficacy on preventing diseases from
happening by itself, independently of other facts, for instance, working out, having
good patterns of sleep, positive thinking, social sharing, etc.

Current recommendations for diet consumption,
