My reply against each of your point is explained below-;

Point #1

The Oak ridge hotel, in which I was working is a small property hotel and has a occupancy of 20 rooms,
which are categorized into 4 Acacia (Single), 12 Oak (Standard), and 4 Maple (Deluxe) rooms . So the
organisation was paying me the salary in cash. That was a non-taxable salary thus Form 16 certificates
was also not issued to me.
It is not mandatory for the organizations with 20 or less employees to register for the EPF scheme
though they can voluntarily register for Employment Provident Fund Scheme.
And as per my request no amount were deducted in accordance to the Provident Fund scheme.

Point #2

These hotels are in rural areas where business is only seasonal, so they pay very less as compared to big
cities, where wages are higher. And it becomes an official document so rural Employers try to pay cash
so they don't have any other liabilities of employees.

Point # 3

As per the hotel norms, a salary certificate is an official document provided by employers to their
employees. The employees who get their salaries through direct cash mode should need to get their
cash salary certificate every month. It will act as their salary proof whenever they want to apply for a
visa, new job or any loans etc.

Point # 4

EPF is a scheme under the Miscellaneous Provision Act, 1952. According to this Act, if an employee’s
salary is more than Rs. 15,000 per month, the employee is termed as a non-eligible employee and it is
not mandatory for the employer to become a member of the EPF, although one can still register with
the consent of their employer and approval from the Assistant PF Commissioner.
So, as per my consent no amount was deducted for the Employee Provident Fund scheme.

Point# 5

Considering point#4, during my employment time in The Vergomont and in Anant Rasa I was drawing
my salary above Rs 15,000 thus it was not mandatory for me to register under EPF scheme. The salary
amount I am getting is totally tax-exempt so the mode through which I am getting my salary is in cash.

Point# 6

In all of the hotel properties I have worked in, I was drawing my salary in cash. These are generally the 3
and 4 star category hotels and according to the norms and the geographic area of the hotel properties
here paying salary in cash is allowed. As the hotel businesses are allowed to pay salary less than 20000/-
in cash to the employee as per Indian Government norms.

Point# 7

As far as the Income Tax Return (ITR) is concerned, employees whose income is less than Rs. 2.5 lakh per
annum are exempted from tax and they don't have to pay a tax on their income. Till date I am drawing
maximum of Rs. 2,40,000 per annum from my current employer, that means I am exempted to pay tax
from my income.
