Finals Activity #1 (Script)
Bago mag conduct ng PESTEL analysis, kailangan maging aware tayo sa history nito. Coca-Cola is a
leading beverage company based in the United States that primarily manufactures non-alcoholic,
flavored beverages. Despite the fact that Coca-Cola is one of the world's largest beverage companies,
with operations in over 200 countries, it is influenced by these external factors.

Political Conditions:

Political factors can have a direct impact on a company's business conditions. If a country's political
situation is unstable, the company may suffer a loss despite having invested a significant amount of
money and time. As a result, political scenarios can have an impact on a company's growth.

Introduction of soda tax across major US cities & Changes in government laws and policies affect the
business operations worldwide:

 Changes in taxation, labor laws, and employment conditions can all have an impact on Coca-Cola
sales.

Kasi pag may nagbago sa binabayaran nila maaaring mag taas din sila ng presyo, or panatilihin nila yung
presyo pero hindi same quality nung ingredients.

Economic Conditions:

Most businesses base their investment decisions in the country on the country's economic conditions.
Even when a country has a positive trade relationship, its economic stability should be taken into
account. Otherwise, the company may lose money and fail to grow.

The economic impact of COVID-19 lockdown:

 Coca-Cola's revenue is 70% dependent on countries other than the United States. The market
conditions of these countries can have an impact on the country's development. For example,
the pandemic has had an impact on the nations' economic conditions. It can have an impact on
the company's bottom line.

Loss of potential markets due to government restrictions and bans.

Global financial crisis

Sociocultural Conditions:

When a company does business in a specific area, their socio-cultural situation has a significant impact
on the company. To run a successful business, they must confront the issues. Otherwise, the company
may be unable to attract new customers.

Cultural trends in various global locations:

 Coca-Cola is one of the most well-known brands and the mastermind behind campaign creation.
While branding and campaigning, they focused on a variety of social issues. As a result, you have
the opportunity to gain more customers while also building strong brand awareness.
Technological Conditions:

Though technological issues do not have a direct impact on the growth of beverage brands, certain
other technological conditions can have an indirect impact.

- The introduction and impact of Artificial Intelligence in businesses

The impact of social media technologies:

 Smartphone users have increased as a result of technological advancement. The company can
use social networking sites for promotion and marketing, which will help them increase brand
recognition.

Environmental Conditions:

Environmental issues may have an impact on brand awareness for beverage companies. Coca-Cola's
PESTEL analysis can show how environmental issues affect their business:

Challenges to control ever growing plastic and can wastes:

 The company should consider more environmentally friendly packaging options. They can
replace their plastic bottle with another material that is easily recyclable.

- The company can use advanced waste management technology, which can help the company
strengthen its brand image. The company can raise awareness through creative campaigns or through
donations to environmental causes.

Legal Conditions:

Legal issues may or may not have an immediate impact on the brand's business. They can, however,
have an indirect impact. The following are some legal conditions that may have an impact on the brand's
development:

- Many countries have already established a sugar limit for beverages. As Coca-Cola has a wide
area of services, they need to consider it. Failure to comply may result in legal action.
- In most countries, the caffeine content of any beverage is fixed. Coca-Cola has previously been
sued and fined for having an excessive caffeine content.
- The company must value employment ethics and consider labor working conditions. They may
face legal consequences if they pay less to laborers and do not provide safe working conditions.

STRATEGy FOR ADDRESSING THE CHALLENGES

DIFFERENTIATION STRATEGY

Coca-Cola can differentiate itself from other soft drink brands by allocating a much larger portion of its
advertising budget solely to brand differentiation. Because Coca-products Cola's are similar and close
substitutes for its competitive brand, this strategy can help the company combat heavy competition
from their immediate competitors and keep them at the top.

FINALS ACTIVITY #3
Finals Activity #3
1.a In order to create a customer benefit package, we need to distinguish between
two types of services. One is known as the primary, and the other as the peripheral.
As a result, we can define this customer benefit package as having primary
goods such as shoes, handbags, sunglasses, and so on.
There must be a peripheral item in order to have that primary good, as in Zappos'
business.
If you're going to do online mailing and things like online business and send it by
mail or whatever way, you'll need some packaging. Even if they go to the store, some of
these people enjoy some packaging. As a result, we also require some peripheral good
packaging as a service to be performed.
Because they are making these things and ordering them online or over the
phone, we need a supplementary service called call centers where the calls can be
entertained and everything.
We must also consider the information service and web design from a technical
standpoint. We also require that type of peripheral service to be provided.
Finally, we must be able to ship what we have on hand as well as receive returns
from customers. So we need a supplementary service called free shipping, which is
what Zappos promises and delivers.
As a result, we can define the customer service package or benefit that Zappos
provides.
1.b Zappos itself does not manufacture the physical goods. It is stated in the case
that the manufacturers for all the goods and the services provided by Zappos are mostly
in Asia. So they are the contract manufacturers who manufacture the physical goods for
Zappos. Since these are the ones who manufacture the things that Zappos have, we
need some global sourcing agents who will be responsible for the quality and delivery of
the physical goods.
2. Call centers, order entry, fulfillment, picking, inbound and outbound shipping,
inventory management, global sourcing and purchasing, billing, and returns are the
primary processes. Which is the first step in carrying out a production.
Support processes are those that prepare people to do work in order for these
processes to be completed or for the process to be successful. They are the employees'
and workers' training, hiring, medical, salary, and child care.
General management processes are the tasks that managers must complete.
Such as the vice president of operations, the vice president of information technology,
the vice president of marketing, the vice president of human resources, and the vice
president of finance. These are the individuals who will be in charge of the processes in
general.
3a. Operations management includes the planning, execution, and supervision
of the production of goods or services. It is the administration of business practices in
order to achieve the highest level of efficiency within an organization It is concerned
with converting materials and labor as efficiently as possible into goods and services in
order to maximize an organization's profit.
In the case of Zappos, they plan well by improving their services, which helps
them achieve a sales increase despite the crippling economic conditions. Meanwhile,
their plan execution was excellent. They set high standards for customers to expect
from other businesses, making it difficult for them to compete. Finally, their supervision
is very high-tech, as they manage their operations using a sophisticated computer
system known as Genghis.
3.b We can see it from the point of view of the managerial actions:
Its impact varies depending on the responsibilities. All of the manager's actions have an
impact on the business's effectiveness and efficiency. What managers do at one level
has an impact on other managerial decisions at other levels.
As a result, operations managers' decisions have an impact on a company's reputation
and bottom line, such as Zappos. Very much so, because everything we do has an
impact on marketing, sales, finance, human relations, and customers' perceptions of
how Zappos responds.
4.
There are seven major differences between goods-producing and service-providing
businesses: tangibility, inventory, returnability, ownership, customer interaction, variability,
and quality. Zappos sells tangible and easily accessible products such as shoes. Most of their
other activities that support their products are services. An example is their return policy,
which is supported by their telemarketers and customer service. The quality of their goods,
services, and customer experience is important and can determine Zappos’ reputation and
profitability.
Answer- 1 Customer benefit packages are –
 Delivering WOW through service
 Free shipping in both directions on all the purchases
 Faster shipping to the customers
 365-day return policy
 Very humble customer service
 Occasionally surprise perks
 Customer service standards
 Provides value for money product
Physical goods are manufactured by other branded stores and are kept on Zappos.com
to sell with a margin. Quality and delivery will be held solely responsible by Zappos, and
Zappos will be held accountable for both terms if they fall short in any way.
2) The delivery process begins once the customer order is received. So first checking
the availability of the product, then checking the required quantity of the product, after
this indent is to be made to process the order, then indent has been given to
warehouse, now warehouse person will take out the product based on the indent,
warehouse person will hand over the material to the packing staff who packs the
product. After packing the product, it is shipped and handed over to a courier person,
who transports it to the nearest hub and then to the customer.
3) Initially, the company had issues with product inventory, which occurred as a result of
quality issues observed by customers, and thus the complaints ratio increased. They're
talking about the internal fulfillment model. After a while, they had this inventory
management system in place because everything was automated, so inventory was
more stable and yielded good returns.
There were some issues with the product's quality that were worked out over time, and
after some experiments, the quality was improved.
4) Businesses that produce goods and those that provide services are two distinct
entities. Producing goods entails everything associated with the product, beginning with
the purchase of raw materials and ending with on-time delivery to customers. Service
providers must remember that on-time delivery is the only way to keep customers
happy, so they must maintain a high level of customer service, whereas product
manufacturers must focus on quality oriented products and cost optimization in addition
to delivery. So there is a lot more to do in terms of producing the product and delivering
it on time. After-sales service is also very important in terms of providing customer
service, so one should be prompt when making commitments.
