    Question one

    • System behavior using only Proportional (P) shows a quick response, as it has fasted settling time,
    however, it has a large offset.
    • System behavior using only Integral (I) shows no offset, but it has the presence of oscillations and
    overshoot.
    • System behavior using Proportional and Integral (PI) is not oscillatory, has no overshoot and has no
    offset. It however has the slowest settling time.

    • Any value of Derivative (Kd) will result in a lag in the curve, which results in a slow settling time, so let
    Kd=0.
    • As Integral value (Ki) is increased, speed of increases. It reaches a point it overshoots, which can
    corrected by adjusting the Proportional value (Kp).
    • After gradually increasing Kp and Ki values, you will end up with a response that is quick and has no
    overshoots.
    These values are Kd = 2, Ki = 4, Kd = 0.
