Introduction
The modern art movement presented
an abundance of possibilities for both
artists and admirers, with numerous
mediums for sculptures being
enhanced during this era. It brought
about a transformation in sculptural
techniques, methods, subjects, and
materials used by sculptors in their
creations.
Transitioning
of Art
Several art movements under the modern
period, such as Cubism, Futurism,
Constructivism, Surrealism, and Dadaism,
contributed to this shift. While aiming to
satisfy the public, the primary objective of
this movement was to experiment and
break free from traditional practices.
Many artworks during this time were
known for being innovative, free-spirited,
figurative, and at times, perplexing.

Modern Art
refers to artwork created between the 1860s
and 1970s, which embodies the styles and
principles of that era. Modern artists explored
new ways of seeing and introduced innovative
ideas about the nature of art materials and
their functions. The origins of modern art can
be traced back to influential painters such as
Vincent van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, Paul Gauguin,
Georges Seurat, and Henri de Toulouse-
Lautrec, who played significant roles in shaping
the movement.
