EXPANDED MATERNITY LEAVE:

QUALIFYING CONDITIONS:

- Notified the SSS through her employer

- Paid at least 3-months contributions within the 12-month period prior to semester of contingency.

For purposes of counting the required monthly contribution:

1. The year is divided into four (4) quarters:

o January to March

o April to June

o July to September

o October to December

2. A semester consists of two consecutive quarters.

Process:

A. Exclude the semester of delivery, miscarriage or emergency termination of pregnancy.

B. Count twelve (12) months backwards starting from the month immediately before the semester
of delivery, miscarriage or emergency termination of pregnancy.

Example:

X gives birth in November 2020.

Exclude the semester of birth (July 2020 – December 2020).

X must have given at least three monthly contributions from July 2019 to June 2020.

Take note:

Delivery – 105 days with full pay

Miscarriage – 60 days with full pay
