English. Dewa Ruci
There was a kingdom where it was split because of two families warring
over the throne. The other family won (the kuruwa) and the other
(panduwa family) was exiled. The King of kuruwa is worried because his
other 99 brothers are weak and could not be depended upon. He is
afraid that his cousins, the panduwa will overthrow him. So the prince
asked Adorno, his adviser, for his opinion. Now this adviser, a prince, is also
the adviser of Pemu, King of Panduwa. The adviser told him to trick the
king of panduwa into the forest where wild animals and monsters abound.
Turno informed Bemu there’s water in the forest that can give him
supernatural powers. Bemu entered the forest with great noise to look for
the sacred water that the wild and animals instead of killing him all ran
away. Then two monsters confronted him and he fought with him. He won
the battle but the two monsters surprisingly returned to their true forms
which are the Gods. They thank Bemu for changing them back. They
become monsters because of disagreement with the supreme God. They
give Bemu a reward by being able to live underwater. But Bemu still asked
them where he could find the sacred water. To which the Gods said
there’s no such thing in the forest. Bemu went back to his adviser, Adorno
who told him it was just a test for him to go to the forest. Again, he tricked
Bemu and told him the sacred water is found in the ocean. So off Bemu
went and was confronted by a sea dragon whom he easily defeated.
Out came a small god who told him also there’s no such sacred water.
The small god instead told him to enter his body and Bemu obliged. Bemu
came out of the god confused. He was asked what he saw. He said a
pattern of black, red, yellow and white. The small god then explained
what they mean: black - is the strongest power, it is the angry mind, which
leads people away from good intentions; red - is jealousy and envy, which
obliterates prudence; yellow - is instant gratification and destruction which
leads men away so they cannot meditate; and white - is the only
beneficial one which provides calmness, purity and silent action, which is
a recipient of divine action. Mastery of the white people could live in
harmony of the divine will.
