V. Questions

1. How effective is the Geologic Time Scale in serving its purpose? Support your answer.

- To assign a date to a certain historical event on Earth geologic time scale is an effective
component for portraying History of the earth is a standard timeline used to describe the age
of rocks and fossils, as well as the events that formed them. It spans Earth's entire history and
is split into four important areas.

2. How did geologists determine the age of the Earth?

- Radiation Detection in which the examined moon rocks and meteorites, neither of it had
been altered by the rock cycle. The same radiometric dating techniques were used on those
rocks.

3. What is relative dating? How is it used in the geologic timeline?

- The process of determining whether one rock or geologic event is older or younger than
another without knowing their exact ages is known as relative dating. It puts geologic events
in chronological order without requiring each event to be assigned a specific numerical age.

VI. Generalization
The activity specifies that Geologic Time Line is useful when it comes to learning about the
history ages of the Earth. It can indicate the time and ages of the eras that has been passed by
and how the earth evolves each era. Fun fact the first life that appeared on earth was a very
simple, single-celled bacteria.
