Technology - effects in Education

- Hi Ana! I just left my English class. I noticed that nowadays we use a lot of
technology to support our classes and my English teacher is who’s using it the most.
It’s really helpful for both teachers and students when it comes to doing tasks and
correcting them.

- Really? What kind of platform is your teacher using? My English teacher prefers to
use books and give us some exercises to do during the classes. After doing the
exercises our teacher asks if we have any doubts and checks if everything is correct. I
like this way much better because I can keep my focus better. I think it would be easy
for us to lose focus if we used our phones or laptops during class.

- My teacher is currently using a platform where we have access to the digital version
of our book whenever we want and we also have interactive exercises there. I think it’s
more interesting to do exercises this way. We are able to expose doubts and correct
the exercises with the whole class as well.

- I think it would be interesting to try to do things that way someday but I still prefer my
teacher's method. Although technologies are really helpful in theoretical classes. A
good example is when we need to expose content through powerpoints and so on. I
can’t picture myself spending a class on my cell phone without getting distracted.

- I agree with you when it comes to helping in theoretical classes. I must admit that I
also cannot picture myself using my phone during all classes just doing exercises
because I would end up getting distracted as well. But since English is a subject that I
don't really like, it becomes more interesting to me using this method because it’s more
dynamic and we can work individually and in groups and learn as well.

- I guess you can be right. I think it would be useful to use this method in some
classes. I'll suggest this method to my teacher. It would be interesting to do things that
way when there’s a class where we only do exercises.

- That sounds good! Then tell me if she agreed or not. I'll see you later, I'm going to
class.

- I will! See you later!
