Final Self-Reflection
It is such a wonderful experience that doing my internship at the school that I have never
been here before and I also have never observed the class in this school as well. It is a big
challenging for me to learn new things from difference environment especially international
school. I worried that my knowledge and ability might not meet students’ need and I might not
require to teach in international school. When I was here in the school, for the first day, I didn’t
know what I need to do and shy to approach my homeroom teacher. I worried about so many
things for the first week. After a week, I realized that there is nothing to be afraid and shy to
learn new things and to gain more experiences. All of my Grade3 teachers are kind and they are
willing to help me anytime I need help. I feel so excited when I first enter the classroom. My
homeroom called me to come up in front of the class to introduce myself to the students. I have
to introduce myself four times because there are four classes in Grade3 which are Grade3A,
Grade3B, Grade3C, and Grade3D. I felt a little bit nervous when I introduce myself to Grade3D.
For the other three classes, I felt normal and not nervous anymore.

I do not regret to do my internship in Ekamai International School. I have learned so

many things from my homeroom teacher and learn from other teachers as well. I realized that
being homeroom teacher is not easy as I have imagined. Homeroom teacher has to control
everything in the class. As long as the students are inside the classroom, teacher has to put her
full responsibility to take care each one of them. Homeroom teacher needs to come to the class
earlier than students and to take care of student safety. If anything that happen in the classroom,
homeroom teacher has to take the responsibility and solve all the problem. My first class of
teaching was not going well because the time for preparation was short and I didn’t have creative
activity for students to engage class activity. I felt like I just focus on lecturing instead of using
other method to teach the students. But I improve myself to use difference methods so that
students could easily understand and enjoyed what they were learning in the class. After two or
three classes of my teaching, I can see myself improving. The students also understand what I
was teaching and they also remembered what they have learned from the lesson.

After I taught Math, I was very happy when a few students came to me and asked me to
teach them more lessons. I couldn’t teach another lesson because I was assigned only one week
for each subjects. As a teacher, I am very happy when I see the students love to learn and
understand what I am trying to teach them. I can feel that they still need me as their teacher even
though I am just an intern student. When I taught Science subject, I could feel that I was
improving if I compare to my first few teaching periods. I have more confident to share my
personal idea and use more teaching materials which integrate students learning. The second last
week of my internship, I taught four online classes. Teaching online class is not really fun if you
have hands-on activity. Actually, I would like them to involve in hands-on activity so that they
can apply them to the real world. Different teacher has different teaching style and classroom
management. I am blessed to learn them from four of my Grade3 teachers which I can use those
techniques for my future classroom. I have learned teaching techniques not only from face to
face class but also online class. I can say that I have learned another new online teaching
technique which is learning through google classroom. Honestly, I have never use and see
anyone from AIU used this online technique before. I hope I can use this online teaching
technique to apply it to my future classroom. I keep in my mind that if I want to become an
effective teacher, I have to learn to gain more knowledge in different ways and effective teacher
should be technologically skillful as well. So that I try to learn everything when I am doing my
internship. So that I will be able to apply them for my future. During internship, I usually think
about having my own classroom as I am a homeroom teacher and enjoy my days with the
students. I know that I will be tired because I will face with difference behaviors from the
students. But it is fun to work with the students or children. One day, I will be proud of myself
when I see my students achieve their goals.
