MY PLAN A: ___Registered Nurse______________________________

My Plan A: I enjoy taking care of others when they need it, and alson giving
Consider: advice to others when they need it. I also enjoy learning more about
❏ What do you enjoy? medical concepts and learning about how the body works. I enjoy
❏ What sort of lifestyle do you working and spending time with others and working as a team to
want? complete a goal. I also enjoy being kept busy, and being pushed to
❏ What are you good at? be the best I can be.I enjoy a fast-paced work environment. I want a
comfortable lifestyle, one where I can support myself and potentially
support a family when its time. I don’t care about being “rich”, but I
want to be able to every now and then splurge on something
enjoyable, like going shopping, vacations, or perhaps a fancy dinner.
I also want a lifestyle that is balanced, where I can focus on work,
relationships, self-care, and family. I am good at communicating with
others when necessary and also not when necessary. This allows
me to also be good with problem solving and overcoming issues. I
am good at working solitary, and also with a team of people.

Career Info that I have The upsides of the job is that its rewarding emotionally and
discovered… professionally. You are always meeting new people and expanding
Consider: your knowledge in the medical field with every different patient you
❏ Upsides/downsides of job have. There is always something new happening. There is also a
❏ Job duties/ responsibilities good chance of getting a job after Nursing school due to high
❏ Salary range demand of nursing in the province. You can also work anywhere as a
❏ Future outlook nurse, such as hospitals, family practices, nursing homes and more.
❏ Lifestyle factors The downsides are that the job can be diffilcult sometimes, as you
❏ Advancement opportunities will come into contact with difficult patients. Stakes can be high in
high pressure situations. A downside to some can also be that hours
can be long. Your responsibilties as a nurse are assessing and
observing patients, keeping records of symptoms for patients, getting
patients prepared for exams, and administering medications.
Basically the overall care of patients. The salary range in BC to be a
registered nurse is averaged to be $39.51/hour, and $102,157/year,
but this depends on what branch of nurse you are. Lifestyle of being
a nurse can consist of varied shifts, such as early morning shifts and
night shifts. This can cause sleep schedule problems if a proper
strategy isn’t maintained to get enough sleep. But, shifts are flexible
and it is possible to plan your time accordingly to your current
lifestyle and what you need to maintain good self-care. An example
of this can be working a 12 hour shift, but then having 4 days off to
recharge. Advancement opportunities for nursing can be continueing
your education and becoming a Nurse practitioner, which is only a
notch down from being a doctor. Nurse practitioners can prescibe
medications to patients and also have their own medical practices.
