GESTATIONAL DIABETES DIET PLAN

MEAL 1st Overnight soaked Almonds 6pc + walnut 4 + raisins 10-12pc + cashew 4 +
[6.30-7.30 am] dates 2 pc
MEAL 2nd 1 cup poha with veggies / upma/ veg.oats/ 2 boiled egg white + 1 hard
Breakfast [ 8.30- 9.00am] boiled whole egg + 1 cup sauteed sprouts [ green moong + chana] /rava idli
/ besan cheela / moong cheela / rava dosa/ 3 plain chapati + 1 cup green
veg + 1 cup ginger tea.

MEAL 3rd 1 bowl mixed fruit chat [ orange+ apple + guava + anar etc] OR 1 med. Size
Pre – Lunch [ 11.30 – Orange / guava/ apple OR 200 ML coconut water / sattu water with 2 tbsp
12.30 pm ] lemon juice with ½ tsp blacksalt .
MEAL 4th 3 plain chapati + ½ cup brown rice + 1 cup mixed dal [ palak / drumstick
LUNCH [1.30 -2.00PM] added] + 1 cup green veg /leafy veg + 1 full bowl salad [ must ]
ONCE IN A WEEK –
[Fish 200gm/paneer 80gm/ chicken breast 100gm /rajma /channa/
mushroom / roasted chicken only 100gm]
MEAL 5th 1 cup ginger tea + 1 cup roasted makhana [ foxnut ] / 1 bowl bowl
Evening – Snacks chickpea / 2 pc.multigrain biscuits
[4.30 – 5.00pm]
MEAL 6th 3 plain chapati +1 cup dal + 1 cup green veg / egg bhurji + 1 bowl salad
Dinner [ 8.00- 8.30pm] OR 1 Bowl vegetable soup / 1 cup veg.oats + 1 hard boiled whole egg.

Bed-Time 1 glass low fat milk + 1 handful makhana [ foxnut ] withot added sugar
[9.30- 10.30 pm]

Avoided ;- All refined ,processed food,fast food items , excess eating of non veg, white rice, white
sugar, white bread , puri ,paratha ,maida ,baked food item , ghee ,butter, full fat milk ,coffee, all
under ground vegetables like potatoes, zimikand ,kochai , banana, grapes , papaya,packed fruit
juices.

Note;- EAT small frequent meal . control your portion size eat in smaller plate . Drink plenty of
water 4-5 lit water/day. instead of coffee use green tea alteast 2 cups in a day . eat more green
veggies/fruits/ salad /sprouts . Do some physical exercise - brisk walking alteast 30min . take a
good quality of sleep.
