4. Please submit the final assessment together with cover sheet which consists of the following

b. Student’s name and student’s number;
c. Group and lecturer’s name.
5. Students are required to fill in UITM’S ACADEMIC INTEGRITY PLEDGE (IKRAR INTEGRITI
AKADEMIK PELAJAR UITM) which must be attached together with the answer.
QUESTION 1
On 28 February 2019, Best Bank Berhad obtained a judgment against Sayyid for a sum of
RM400,000 together with interests and costs.
On 9 October 2021, a Bankruptcy Order was entered against Sayyid based on the creditor’s
petition filed by Best Bank Berhad. Subsequently, Sayyid’s sister, Reena approached Best
Bank Berhad to propose for a settlement of the debt. Best Bank Berhad agreed to accept
RM300,000 as a full and final settlement of its claim against Sayyid.
Sayyid intends to make an application under the Insolvency Act 1967 to have the Bankruptcy
Order rescinded and annulled on the ground that the debt has been paid in full.
