Southern Hemisphere.

Ans- The Democratic Republic of Congo experiences a hot and humid


climate,trees and plants tend to grow quickly here.The vegetation found here is
dense.The forests have very tall trees whose branches form a thick canopy.Even
sunlight cannot pass through these forests.so, they remain dark and dim even
during daytime.These forests remain green throughout the year and therefore
called evergreen forests.
4.Describe the life of the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Ans- The Democratic Republic of Congo is thinly populated. Most of the people live
in rural areas. They live in houses made of mud and sticks with thatched roofs. The pygmies
were the original inhabitants of the country. They use sign languages and lead a nomadic
life. They rarely eat cooked food. They are fond of music. Drum music and dance are
popularly forms of entertainment. They live by hunting and gathering food from the
forests.

5.Write a short note on the economic activity of the people of the Dramatic Republic of
Congo.

Ans. Agriculture and mining are the chief occupation in the Democratic Republic of
Congo.The country is rich in mineral resources. Copper, diamonds, gold, silverzinc, cobalt,
manganese, tin, iron ore and coal are the some of the minerals found here.The minerals
found here are exported to other countries because the industries here are not well
developed.

The main cash crops include coffee, palm oil, rubber, cotton, sugar, tea and cocoa.The food
crops include cassava, maize, groundnuts and rice.
