They are the size of a large housefly and feed only on blood.

The tsetse fly (Genus Glossina) is notable for two things: it carries parasites called
trypanosomes, which cause sleeping sickness in humans and nagana in cattle in sub-
Saharan Africa; and it gives birth to live young.
