What is The process of raising
Parenting ? children and providing

care in order to ensure

adulthood .
There are four types of
parenting styles .

Types of 1. Authoritarian .
parenting 2. Authoritative / Democratic .
styles 3. Permissive .
4. Uninvolved / Neglectful .
AUTHORITARIAN PARENTING

The authoritarian parenting style is also known


as the disciplinarian parenting style.
The characteristics of this parenting style is high level of
parental control and low levels of parental responsiveness.
Authoritarian parents view themselves as authority figures .
They use stern discipline and harsh punishment such as corporal
punishment to obtain behavioral and psychological control .
They only allow one - way communication through strict rules
and orders .
