Diamond is also made of carbon. Can the carbon dating technique be used to determine the
age of a diamond? Explain why or why not
Even though diamond is primarily made of carbon, we can not used carbon dating technique to
determined the age of diamond because diamond typically has ages of million years to billion years
old and carbon dating technique is too short to be useful to determined diamond ages ( The half-life of
C-14 is known to be approximately 5,730 years. Let’s round it up to 6,000 years for simplicity).

Why is CO2 called one of the greenhouse gases?
´like the glass of a greenhouse, they let visible light from the sun pass through the
atmosphere but they absorb long-wavelenght infrared energy from the earth and keep
the atmosphere warm”- paleontological research institution.

Although diamond is composed primarily of carbon, it can- not be carbon-dated since the
half-life of carbon is too short (atmospheric 14C decays to 14N with a half-life of only 5,700
years) to be useful for any geological material such as dia- mond that typically has ages on
the order of millions to billions of years.
the experts explain that even though gem-quality diamonds are nearly pure lattices
of carbon and carry very little information about their ages and origins, lower-
grade specimens harbour imperfections in the form of tiny pockets of liquid, which
are remnants of the more complex fluids from which the crystals evolved
Why is photosynthesis considered an endothermic reaction ?
Photosynthesis is an endothermic reaction because sunlight energy is absorbed during the
process of photosynthesis by the plants.
And our definition says that when in a reaction heat is absorbed it is termed as endothermic
reaction
In this process, plants use the energy from the sun to convert carbon dioxide and water into
glucose and oxygen. This reaction requires 15MJ of energy (sunlight) for every kilogram of
glucose that is produced:
Sunlight+6CO2(g)+6H2O(l)⟶C6H12O6(aq)+6O2(g)
