Social networking is also a form of entertainment and a place to help many
people relax after the stress and fatigue of life. That is why many young people often
come to find relief from stress or to find empathy and share their feelings with those
around them. It makes it easy for us to know the moods and feelings of those around us
without having to meet face-to-face.
But referring to diseases of the century-diseases that are a danger to the whole
world—what disease will you think of? Cancer? Ebola? Spanish flu or AIDS? Illnesses
suggest physical pain and bodily devastation. But have you ever thought that the
destruction of the soul, the deviation in thoughts and actions, is the most frightening
disease? Social network addiction is one such disease-a disease that does not cause
physical pain but brings countless dangers, which is a great alarm for today's society. Be
a smart fraudster; know how to accept the technological quintessence of the era to serve
your own life; don't let them have the opportunity to reveal their negative sides and
dominate too deeply in your main life. by myself, friend!
II. What are the drawbacks of social networking sites?
1. Health

Social Networking Sites  - one of the greatest inventions of mankind, have
become essential in human life.  Besides the positive effects, there are disadvantages that
we need to understand. In the first place, we will talk about health issues. One question
for you: “ How is social media bad for people’s health?”.

 The passive use of social media excessively, and scrolling through posts
continuously for hours can be unhealthy and is linked to feelings of envy, inferiority, and
dissatisfaction with life. Psychologists also believe that this habit leads to symptoms of
ADHD, depression, anxiety, sleep deprivation, and insomnia. These factors have
contributed to nervous stress - especially in people who have many life difficulties.
What’s more, it can lead to obesity và unhealthy snacking. Spending too much
time on social media makes it easy to get distracted and overeat. You will miss out on
the time you could spend exercising, making you inactive, and your health declines. Not
to forget to mention that it makes you stressed, then causes hair loss, dark circles under
the eyes, aging skin, poor memory, and not a clear mind.

Anxiety Disorders: Anxiety disorders can develop due to excessive social media
use. Exposure to negative information causes some people to become anxious about
problems in life and the future. Besides, witnessing successful young people also creates
pressure that makes many people confident, feel weak, and become overly worried about
work, study, etc.
Stomach pain: spending too much time on social media to replace exercise, sleep,
or other basic normal activities is also a cause of increased stress if continued. In the
long run, there is a risk of stomach upset. People constantly under stress and pressure
often have a higher risk of stomach pain than the general population. When used at
mealtimes, it will disturb the circadian rhythm, and disrupt the body's own humoral and
endocrine regulation mechanisms, leading to difficulty in digestion, absorption, bloating,
loss of appetite, and lack of appetite. delicious, easy to cause stomach - colon pain. The
cause is due to stress, the pressure causes the stomach to increase contraction and
secretion, and imbalance leads to self-erosion of the mucosa, causing ulcers.
Insomnia: The light emitted from the screens of electronic devices will deceive
the user's brain, causing circadian rhythm disturbances. That leads to poor sleep, which
seriously affects health and spirit. In addition, using social networking sites at bedtime

leads to fatigue, difficulty sleeping, staying late, not sleeping deeply, and waking up
quickly… In addition, using social networks for a long, long time will lead to eye strain,
eye pain, eye pain, or even nearsightedness.
2. Cyberbullying (Phương Thảo)
Cyberbullying is defined as criminal or non-criminal offensive online behavior
that can lead to physical assault, affecting a person's physical, psychological, or
emotional well-being. It is done by an individual or group of bad guys through
smartphones, Internet games, social networks, etc… Some examples of cyber violence
are as follows. First, Harassment – online, from individual threats to coordinate, threats
to coordinated abuse. Includes teasing, hate speech... It could be anonymous or someone
you know! Second, Intimate Image Sharing Dissent, sharing intimate images to
humiliate and exploit. Sometimes called porn' - but it's sexual violence. Third, Record
and distribute sexual assaults: When videos and photos of sexual assaults are shared via
social media. This is not just a private matter - it is a form of gender-based violence
because it disproportionately affects young women and other marginalized genders. “To
whom does cyber violence happen?”. Women and teenagers are often victims of cyber-
violence because they spend a lot of their time surfing the web and chatting on social
networks, especially making online games. Moreover, women often have little
knowledge about information technology and information security on online platforms.
And they often show photos and information on social networks, which is like "bait" for
bad objects. In Vietnam, cyber violence is also common among children and young
people, according to a 2019 survey by the Institute for Sustainable Development
Management (MSD) and Save the Children International (Save the Children) said that in
2018 alone, the number of Vietnamese-related reports of child sexual abuse
images/videos online was 706,435 - ranking second in ASEAN, after Indonesia. And,
“How scary is cyber violence? “Cyber-violence is often seen as nothing to be afraid of
and not dangerous. It may start online, however, but it often ends offline with
devastating consequences for victims and their families. For example, threats of

violence, stalking, inciting suicide, soliciting children for sexual purposes, etc. can all
cause victims to harm themselves or be physically attacked by the perpetrator. The
harmful effects of cyber violence are huge, it affects the psychology of victims such as
making them afraid, worried, insecure, or worse, subject to the influence of bad objects
such as theft, or murder. “How to prevent cyber violence?” Review the online
information that exists on Social Networks, Websites, and Blogs... about you and keep it
to a minimum. Make sure your network has security enabled. Do not send or receive
personal information when using public WiFi. Limit the personal and financial
information you share online or offline. Cyber violence is happening every day, and it
can certainly be even more dangerous in today's digital age. So, learn about this issue,
and find ways to protect yourself and your family from being affected by social
networks. Limiting the posting of private and confidential information on the Internet is
the best way to avoid falling into cyber violence. Be a smart network user, don't immerse
yourself in the virtual world to the point of becoming a victim.
3. Political security, social order, and safety (Huyền Trang)
Social networks contain many threats to national and local security and order.
Some websites are registered and established by organizations and individuals abroad or
by reactionaries. Taking advantage of social networking sites, hostile forces, and
criminals are mixing to destroy security and order by the following tricks:
Not guaranteeing the privacy and confidentiality of information of
individuals and organizations. For individuals, high-tech criminals (hackers) take
advantage of websites to spread viruses to collect personal information: full name, login
name, phone number, relationships, email, account number bank credits, passwords...
fraudulently appropriating properties, even taking personal information of users as
business products for sale. That shows that information security and personal privacy are
being lost when social networks are increasingly developed. Nowadays, it can be said
that anyone can read and share information without understanding the problem,

unintentionally causing trouble, and negatively affecting the personal lives of those
involved.
For organizations and countries: hostile forces can easily grasp the situation of
our country through social networking sites. In addition, at present, our country's
information security and network security still have many shortcomings; can create
opportunities for hostile forces to infiltrate, steal national security information, and
negatively affect our country.
Social networks are being thoroughly exploited by hostile and reactionary
forces to destroy our Party and State. In Vietnam, over the pastime, taking advantage
of the openness and freedom of social networks, hostile forces under the support of
foreign organizations and reactionary elements have always sought to change the
ideology and political system in our country. Many hostile and reactionary forces have
created websites and channels on online social networking platforms such as Facebook,
Instagram, Youtube... domestic; calling on the people in the country to follow them and
carry out acts of disorder and disorder; even connected and gathered forces through
social networks to prepare for riots, overthrows, and opposition to our Party and State.
They also identify social networks as the main front to carry out misinformation
and propaganda activities to destroy our country's ideology with diverse and
sophisticated forms, such as articles, untrue documents; Audio-visual products with
swapping concepts, videos with context cut, or research articles with the use of many
concepts and concepts that are not suitable for people's perception and historical-cultural
conditions…
Diverse sources of cultural and ideological information cause fluctuations
and disturbances in people's ideologies. With the era of global integration, and rapidly
developing and updating information technology like today; Many cultural values and
ideologies of countries are displayed on social networking sites. For such many sources
of information, people who do not know how to selectively absorb will cause their
ideology to fluctuate, more seriously, forget their roots. For example, Western ways of

thinking, value systems, and behaviors expressed in cultural content on social networks
have a certain impact on the ideology of our country today.
4. Learning (Kiều Trang)
How does the learning process happen?
The first process is to receive one-way information and understand the data
according to the given meaning, understanding the relationship between the given
information/concepts. Reception can take place in many places in many ways. At school,
in books, on the intern using face, and using hearing, seeing, and practicing. This process
can be considered as thoroughly imitating, following the instructions, and understanding
precisely what is heard and seen.

The second process is to use previously acquired information, knowledge, and

skills in a purely iterative way. During the application process, there will be some
changes due to the change of the job object, and the changing social circumstances.
These changes in subjects and circumstances lead to the need to optimize previously
available knowledge and skills. This optimization process can be called the third

process.
The third process can occur at the same time interspersed with the second process.
This process includes thinking, analyzing, evaluating, and comparing old information,
knowledge, and skills to discover new relationships between old information/knowledge,
generate/find new knowledge, there propose new ways of doing things, and establish
new skills. Problem-solving skills are partly developed and demonstrated in this process.
So if you want the new one, you have to have the old first. An empty brain cannot
produce new ones. One-way reception of available information, knowledge, and skills is
a necessary condition for the brain to develop, as a premise for development at a higher
level - creativity. With knowledge, when we understand thoroughly, we call it deep
understanding. With a skill, when have mastered it, it is called mastery. A deep
understanding of knowledge and mastery of skills are prerequisites for preknowledge:
To understand knowledge deeply, it is necessary to have a thorough analysis and
evaluation, consider many aspects, and exchange with others. Must be willing to be
seriously evaluated by others and before the criticism of society. Faced with criticism to
prove the right or adjust the incorrect to the more correct and more accurate.
Skills: If you want to master a skill, you must practice it many times, and need the
support of relevant information and knowledge (theory).
The organization is the ability to see the relationships between resources, information,
concepts, skills, and the organization that exploits them - using them to their fullest
potential (spending less, yielding more results). in the shortest time). This process is
optimal.
Vision: seeing the relationship between things, phenomena, concepts, information,
and knowledge. From that relationship, it is possible to predict a part of the future of the
transformation according to relationships such as cause-and-effect, or mathematical
dependencies. Vision is something that doesToturally. To have a vision, there must first
be enough knowledge, skills, and experiences.

 “The drawbacks of social networks on students' learning”
We cannot deny the benefits that social networks have brought to people today,
such as helping people with their work, finding information, establishing personal
relationships, or entertaining..., it also contains many potential risks and risks that may
adversely affect the user's learning, personal relationships, and life. First, Reduce human
interaction: social media addiction not only makes you spend less time with real people
around you but also makes them sad when you value "virtual" friends over virtual
relationships more than what lies ahead. Gradually, relationships will break down and no
one will want to see you anymore. Second, sting time and distraction from one's real
goals: too much focus on social media can easily make people forget the real purpose of
life. Instead of focusing on finding future jobs by learning the necessary skills, young
people are focused only on becoming "keyboard heroes" and becoming famous online.
In addition, posting "sensational" information with the wrong sentence is no
longer a thing, but it makes people angry if used too often. Social networks also
contribute to increased competition, the non-stop competition to find likes and it will
significantly steal your time. Third, Killing creativity: social media is the most effective
means of paralyzing and killing the creative process. Surfing social media sites has the
same numbing effect on the brain as watching television unconsciously. If you plan to
work today, stay away from social networking sites. Fourth, Lack of privacy: there has

more risks from hackers and viruses. These all warn that personal privacy is gradually
being lost while social networks grow. Social networking has brought many benefits, but
it also affects the inherent learning process of people.
In general, for high school students, properly using and avoiding the harmful
effects of social networks is very difficult. To use it properly requires you to train
yourself. You must define your goals. Your goal is to practice knowledge. You need to
understand that social networking is a tool for you. Use social media properly to avoid
unfortunate consequences for yourself.

 5. Communication (Đức Trung)
Today's young people were born in the era of dominant social media technology,
it is inevitable that their lives are dominated by social networks. Social media
interactions now dominate human encounters and meetings. In a world where the use of
social media is gradually becoming the norm, many of us are more inclined to
communicate with friends and loved ones using electronic devices than to meet in
person. However, the most worrisome consequence of this situation is that many young
people do not know how to talk face-to-face with others, forgetting how to convince
others with their sincere words. gradually lose the basic communication skills that are
vital to everyday life and long-term success. While social media allows teenagers to stay
in touch with each other, socializing through screens rather than in real life can make it
difficult for young people to develop the skills they need to maintain healthy
relationships. In addition, this situation also causes the phenomenon of communication
reluctance. Afraid to communicate is a lack of confidence in thinking and acting when
communicating and exchanging with others, often avoiding and showing obvious signs
of fear when communicating, especially in crowds and with strangers. They don't know
how to talk to strangers, but when they talk, they're like chickens with their hair stuck,
not knowing what to say. This syndrome seriously affects their work, study, and
emotional performance because it is difficult to interact with people. Poor
communication is a barrier to success.
The manifestation of this is that they are afraid to talk to strangers. they were
embarrassed and humiliated in front of the crowd, and also don’t dare to look directly at
the opposite person, tremble, worry, or fear when communicating. Because they often
live in the virtual world and have little real-life communication, they are not fully
developed, physically and mentally weak. You seem docile, and well-mannered but
seem to be in another world, stupid, and difficult to integrate with peers. Due to fewer
real bumps in face-to-face communication, communication habits are gradually
eliminated, and they no longer have flexible reflexes to behave and speak. Gradually,

their communication skills become limited; as a result, they become less and less
communicative, unable to talk, to deal with common communication situations. When
going out to the crowd, they are often passive, shy, and gradually lose confidence.
Moreover, living for too long in the virtual world, forgetting about daily relationships
and real life, and having less interaction even with grandparents and parents, making
them away from life, disorienting, and losing faith, enjoy getting along with everyone.

hours, but you need to know when enough is enough. In addition, it is necessary to
coordinate with families and schools in controlling, adjusting, and educating the young
generation. Parents should not indulge their children too much; according to their age,
they should put their studies above their pastimes. Moreover, the state also needs to have
control over Internet service shops, dark websites, and bad content on the Internet. Let's
all join hands to repel social network addiction so that our own lives are more civilized
and developed. Second, carefully choosing the audience should follow good people and

inspire good about life, study, and work. To bring into play the role of the cultural
system and the information media in combination with promoting activities of various
types of folklore, school, classroom, and club activities. Please manage your own time,
behave properly, have a culture when communicating on social networks, and wisely
check the authenticity of the information you are interested in. Raise your sense of
responsibility in the work of sharing information on social networks. Limit time to use
social networks, only use them in your spare time for about 20-30 minutes. Third, build
real relationships to find the people you trust the most to talk to whenever you have any
problems in life.

strive, not just hold on to the phone daily. It is a means to serve your life, not let it control
your life.
Social networks are not scary, the scary thing is that we are gradually turning
ourselves into "social network nerds", instead, let's spend more time with people around
us, for interesting books, and beautiful trips. You will see that the world has many great
and beautiful things you will never get from that social network.
