INTRODUCTION
The Hershey Company is an American multinational company and one of the largest chocolate
manufacturers in the world. It was founded by Milton S. Hershey in 1894 as a subsidiary of his Lancaster
Caramel Company. The company is headquartered in Hershey, Pennsylvania, which is also home to
Hershey Park and Hershey's Chocolate World. The company produces a variety of chocolate products,
such as Hershey's Milk Chocolate, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Kit Kat, Twizzlers and Kisses. It also
manufactures baked products, such as cookies and cakes, and sells beverages like milkshakes. The
company has a long history of social responsibility and philanthropy, supporting causes such as
Hershey's exports its products to many countries around the world, especially in Asia, Latin America,
Middle East, Europe, and Africa. According to Statista, Hershey's generated about 1.1 billion U.S. dollars
from its international sales in 2020. The company also has manufacturing facilities in Brazil, Canada,
China, India, Malaysia and Mexico. Hershey's aims to expand its global presence and reach new

Hershey’s applies a micro-marketing concept to its businesses, which means that it markets
precise products to small target audiences, modifying its products to meet these audiences’
specific demands. Hershey aims to give its customers a larger range option by branding their
products at higher prices. Although the Corporation generally did not use consumer media
advertising such as newspaper and magazine ads, or radio and television commercials, it did
employ a variety of techniques to publicize itself. Hershey Chocolate used its advertising dollars
to promote its products to the stores and outlets that would sell Hershey’s products. Hershey
also believed in advertising its products where consumers could purchase them and created
elaborate and often whimsical store window sets and in-store product displays that featured
