CHAPTER1

1.INTRODUCTION:
Through this new jewellery management system, shop
mangers can easily handle their shop and business transaction by
accessing single window this system will have utilities, transaction and
report generation menus. utilities section will deal with backing up
database either on daily basis, timely basis, monthly basis etc as set by
the admin, adding new customer, adding and deletion of new supplier,
changing the password, categorize different jewellery items etc.
Transaction will deal with finical accounting part of this business
scenario. It will provide information on sales, purchase, cash in and
cash out associated with this business process. generating report by
accessing information stored in database is another important feature
of this system.
This system will able to generate as per user
requirement is user friendly manner. User does not require any
technical details to generate reports. They have to submit their
requirement by using different option available. This section will able to
generate reports on sale, purchases, Cash In and cash Out between a
given time interval. Jewellery Shop Management is used by the
jewellery vendors to record the sales and stock of readymade, ordered,
ornaments, purchased by the customer. The jewellery shop can use
this software to their day-to-day transaction.
This project includes the features of database that is
adding, deleting, searching of a required record.

1.1.INTRODUCTION TO C#.NET:
Windows Forms is a Graphical User Interface(GUI) class library
which is bundled in .Net Framework. Its main purpose is to
provide an easier interface to develop the applications for
desktop, tablet, PCs. It is also termed as the WinForms. The
applications which are developed by using Windows Forms or
WinForms are known as the Windows Forms Applications that
runs on the desktop computer. WinForms can be used only to
develop the Windows Forms Applications not web applications.
WinForms applications can contain the different type of controls
like labels, list boxes, tooltip etc.
1.2.INTRODUCTION TO SQL SERVER:

• Microsoft SQL Server or MS SQL Server for short is the

query language provided for data definition and
manipulation.

• SQL Server is a Relational Database Management Systems
which was developed and marketed by the Microsoft
company.

• SQL and SQL servers are built as two layers where the
SQL server is on the top for interacting with the relational
databases.

CHAPTER 2

2. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
As a Result of careful analysis of the requirements of developing
this project and as per the needs of the project, the requirements are
determined to the company. The Requirements are being classified as
Hardware and Software Requirements respectively. They are
summarized in the form of tables as follows:
2.1 HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS:
Hardware interface describe the logical and physical
characteristics of each interface between the software product and the
hardware components of the system.

Processor : 11th Gen Intel Core i5

RAM : 8 GB
Operating System : Windows 10 & Above

2.2 SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

Software interface describe the connections between this product
and other specific software components (name and version), including
databases, operating systems, tools, libraries and integrated
commercial components. It describes the services needed and the
nature of communications.
FrontEnd: C# Visual Studio 2010
BackEnd : SQL Server

CHAPTER 3
3.SYSTEM ANALYSIS - JEWELLERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM PROJECT
3.1.EXISTING SYSTEM:
At present all the activities in transaction are handled manually.
Manual data processing system, whole providing economy, flexibility
and adaptability at low data volumes become more complex when the
volume of data becomes large. As an organization expands in size and
function, a stage is reached when manual procedures become
inadequate and inefficient. No matter how many clerks are employed a
stage is reached then it becomes impossible to systemize such a large
amount of information. What is required then is an upgrading in the
class of information processing technology.
The present system is not sufficient to hold all the information that
is necessary for the processing. So the library is in need of new
computerized system, which is very flexible, user-friendly and capable
of holding the system in a robust manner.

LIMITATIONS OF EXISTING SYSTEM

There were a lot of reasons for the introduction of the new
system. They are mainly due to the drawbacks and efficiency of the
existing system.
• Physical volume of the data is very large.
• The delay in information search and retrieval.
• Problems in updating and backup.
• Damage of papers containing the information.
• Considerable time taken for report generation.
• Accuracy of data is very lower in manual system.

3.2 PROPOSED SYSTEM:

The system study phase studies the problem, identifies alternate
solution, evaluates these solutions and finally recommends best
solution. The system gives the structure and function of the system. A
detailed system study is essential for developing an efficient system.
The proposed system provides a better user interface. The system is a
menu driven program.

ADVANTAGES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM

• The proposed system can be utilized for easy documenting and
accessing various data carriers such as forms, reports, records
etc.
• Automation makes the system to be user-friendly and hastily in
manipulation and generation of valuable reports providing menu
driven facilities.
• Accuracy and security of data will be more comfortable for the
organization.
• Computerization will avoids human errors due to inexperience in
data entry, manipulation etc.
• The paper work occurred in the manual system can be
completely avoided.
3.4. System analysis

The first step in developing the system is analyzing the problem. Before
developing a system the problem should be well defined. Identifying
the need for a new information system and launching an investigation
and a feasible study must be done to check whether the software is
visible for the organization. This unit we have done this study.
Lack of security is another problem of the existing system. That may
lead to serious problems. It will affect the business career. In the
existing system, there is no facility for the user to see the data. The
existing system is not reliable because of human errors.
Because of the above reasons the existing system need to be change,
for the easy and smooth running of the system.
3.5 Feasibility of the study
The software requirement specification is produced at the culmination
of the analysis All projects are feasible given unlimited and resource
and infinite time. Unfortunately, the development of computer-based
system is more likely to be plagued by scarcity of resources and difficult
delivery dates.
Feasibility study is a system proposal according to its workability,
impact on the organization, ability to meet user needs and efficient use
of resources. Feasibility study identifiers, describes, and evaluates the
candidate system and select the best system for the job. An important
outcome of the preliminary investigation is determining whether the
system requested is feasible or not. After the proposed system was
found to be social and technically acceptable, it was tested for
economic feasibility.
3.5.1 TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY

There may be a number of technical issues, which are generally raised

during the feasibility stage of the investigation. Programming
languages, other hardware and software specifications are easily
available for this system development. Hence the proposed system is
technically feasible. The considerations that are normally associated
technical feasibility include.
- Development Risk.
- Resource Availability.
- Technology.
3.5.2 ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY

The proposed system insures very low cost for the development and
implementation. The system can work on systems with a configuration
and connectivity which causes no excessive cost for implementation or
usage. Data charge is the only cost that incurred once the software is
installed on the system. The study is carried out to check the economic
impact that the system will have on the organization. The amount of
fund that the company can pour into the research and development is
limited. The expenditure must be justified. Thus the developed system
as well within the budget and this was achieved because most of the
technologies used are freely available. Only the customized products
had to be purchased. All you really need to do is install the software on
your system and activate it.
3.5.3 BEHAVIOURAL FEASIBILITY

It centres on the reaction of the users, since the system is not so

complicated it is easily understandable by anyone. User training is also
very easy. The user must not feel threatened by the system, instead
must accept it as a necessity. The user also does not need to have any
concept of the software used for developing the system.
3.5.4 OPERATIONAL FEASIBILITY

This is necessary to know whether the system is operationally feasible.

It checks whether the system is flexible for the user to use and whether
all the operations are working correctly and effectively. The newly
developed jewellery management system satisfies all the operational
conditions.
The system does not require enormous amount of money to be
developed. The cost of project depends upon the number of man hours
required. Proposed system can support all type of users, who has
limited knowledge in computing why because the system provides a
user interactive GUI created by using simple language. This is just a
thing to install the software on the system, and then it’s a matter of
going through each area of the software that you want to control.

Conclusions:

It has been a great pleasure for me to work on this exciting and challenging project. This project proved good for me as it provided practical knowledge of not only
programming in C#.net and web based application and no some extent SQL, but also about all handling procedure related with “Jewellery shop Management
System”

It also provides knowledge about the latest technology used in developing web enabled application and client server technology that will be great demand in future.
This will provide better opportunities and guidance in future in developing projects independently.
