king who, in jealousy, had tried to murder him. David wanted to show Saul’s family kindness
because of his bond with Jonathan who had died in war.

Climax: When Mephibosheth came to David, he was expecting to be killed and he bend on
his knees and paid homage to him. David responded and said, “Do not fear, for I will show
you kindness for the sake of your father Johnathan and I will restore to you all the land of
Saul your father and you shall eat at my table always”

Resolution: David gave to Saul’s grandson, Mephibosheth, all the land that belonged to
Saul and his family. The king ordered Ziba, to farm the land for him and bring in the crops so
that his master's grandson may be provided for.

Conclusion: So, Mephibosheth ate at David’s table like one of the king’s sons.

servants of Mephibosheth. And Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, because he always ate at
the king’s table; he was lame in both feet.

Moral: Kindness is the most precious trait. God had demonstrated grace and kindness to
David in so many ways. His life had been spared on numerous occasions. Now, David
