Ancient Evil City Crawler

Update 01 [July 21, 2021]

Feedback Leads to Improvement
With the Ancient Evil City Crawler now in the hands of real world users, we’ve been able to get some invaluable feedback.

This update focuses on two main things; adding more flexibility for how you magnetize your walls, and optimizing the parts for either FDM or Resin
Printing. We felt it was a priority to quickly refactor the core set of walls and doors before adding variations, so that users can start printing out their
files.

We have come to the realization that, at this time, more of our users only have resin printers. While some users have both resin and FDM printers, only a
few only have FDM. We also realize that some users will only want to print the walls, and not the frames for the cardboard tile holders. We want to
make sure that if you only print the walls that there is enough magnetization points to securely attach the walls.

This update is possible in large part to the feedback from users on Facebook and by Email. We would sincerely like to thank you for your feedback, as it
has proved invaluable in improving the Ancient Evil City Crawler project.

Optimization : FDM vs Resin
FDM Optimized parts are designed for printing on Resin Optimized parts are designed for printing on
filament printers resin printers
No hollowing - less walls = Faster print times (eg: Elegoo Mars/Saturn and Anycubic Mono)
Lower resolution mesh = Faster slicer times Parts are designed to print directly on build plate
Eliminate details that cannot be seen on FDM prints Hollowing is modeled in on thicker parts to reduce
resin use

Legacy Parts
All stl files released before this update are considered Legacy Parts.

Legacy Parts are fully compatible with the FDM optimized and Resin Optimized parts in this update. Any previously printed
(Legacy) parts will be perfectly aligned with the new files in this update and all future updates. The Legacy parts work
fine, but the optimized parts are improved to take advantage of the various formats available.

Going forward all parts will be supplied as both FDM and Resin Optimized, and will contain 4x2mm and 5x2mm magnet
hole sizes, in both the single magnet and double magnet configuration.
Hotfix for Frame Tile holders
After printing by the community we have noticed there were errors with Frames AS03 and F05

The AS03 and F05 Tiles (file names end in V2) replace the files in the original pack if you downloaded the Frame
holders before july 21 2021.

AS03_Dogleg_Base will not print successfully due to an unwanted overhang, and

F05_4x2_Base was modified to remove a hidden internal wall, although the original stl file will print correctly. If
you have already printed F05 you will not need to reprint it.

We recommend that you replace the files from your original download with the ones in the hotfix download.

The files in: AncientEvilCityCrawler_Frames_Upload_July21_21_V4.zip are already corrected so if you download

these frames you will already have the correct ‘v2’ files
