Reflect
- Lesson planning helps teachers break down each lesson into defined flow with specific
classroom activities and gives them a schedule they can stick to. It also gives the regular
teacher confidence knowing that class time is being used effectively and that he or she
don’t need to repeat the lesson later. It also provides teachers with the opportunity to
plan ahead for what they want to teach. This allows teacher to focus on what they need
for their lesson and it also provides time frame for what needs to be done.

 I didn’t see them as having an exaggerated reaction, but I did see in them that they were
pleased that they had plans in place to get their attention and bring out the ability of
one of them using Gagne’s Nine Events of Instructions.
 Yes, because I can easily get everyone’s attention with the help of ice breaker. So maybe
I got their attention when I said the learning objectives because the foundation was
good and the class started off lively.
 We have activities where they need to apply what they have learned to real life
situations, problem solving and things that will help them make decisions that they are
doing and will continue to do.
 Yes, there are few students who are unable to follow the topics and are forced to skip
knowledge in order to keep up with the discussion and not fall behind. What I do is
encourage everyone to discuss what they have learned, and if any students fall behind, I
always go back to the topics they need recaps. I won’t let us end a lesson with students
who don’t understand these topics. I do everything I can to help them keep up with
their classmates.
 Yes, there are students who have difficulty, but there are students who do not have any
difficulty, and with the help of classmates, they have conversations about those things
and everyone will teach each other which is a sign of good organizations.
 They are happy with the feedback I give, that is, students are willing to listen and want
to learn because they listen to their teacher’s feedback and they learn to improve their
learning
 During their performance evaluation, they score higher in the post test that the pre test
means they have learned something in the discussions.

Notice

1. A great deal of planning has gone into this, I was looking forward to seeing how I might use
those resource items into class.

2. The resource teacher emphasizes the importance of responsibility in completing

assignments, activities, and projects on time to her students. She successfully motivates her
students to become more responsible and effective learners.

3. I was overjoyed every time the resource teacher asked for my help. It will serve as a stepping
stone or training ground for me in the future as I strive to become a better teacher. Everything

- The planning process for selecting the finest instructional resource. It’s critical to employ
materials that are both effective and respectable and that converge on learning
outcomes. Choosing the most important resources, as having too many might create
distraction and loss of attention.
- I’ll make certain that my references are excellent and helpful. Teaching is continuously
changing, thus I’ll research and develop my materials utilizing multimedia and other
modern tools.

Reflect

1. It is always preferable to be well prepared. It’s crucial to select the appropriate resource
materials. It makes classes more engaging learning more straight forward and allowing teachers
to communicate topics more clearly, I was ready to prepare for it as far as I knew.

2.

3. Individual attention can be piqued by using instructional materials to develop an interest goal
that will aid the learner in achieving direct effort. It promotes effective learning as well as
meaningful communication. It ensures better retention, which leads to more long-term
learning. The first step in making effective use of materials and resources is to comprehend
what the students see or hear. Is it possible for students to create and experiment? Is there a
sufficient amount of interaction and participation? Based on those questions, it is possible to
conclude that this is the direction for me in making effective use of materials and resources.

- Every particular topic in this school's curriculum necessitates the use of instructional
materials. This is undeniably important in the educational process. They allow students
to connect with words, symbols, and ideas in ways that help them improve their
reading, listening, seeing, thinking, speaking, and writing skills through the use of media
and technology. When instructional materials are used, learning becomes more
interesting, practical, realistic, and attractive. They also allow both the instructor and
the students to participate actively and successfully in class. They promote self-
confidence and skill and information self-actualization.
Learning resources are important because they can help students achieve greater levels
of success by enthralling their learning. This method improves the learning process by
allowing the learner to explore the content independently while also providing
repetition. As a result, in order to carry out the lesson and achieve equal learning, the
teacher should select appropriate instructional resources or materials.

- This episode made me realize that we should be cautious when choosing and
implementing apps in our classroom. Some tools are helpful, but they are not free.
However, there is one app that we can use for free. Teachers must also be adept at
selecting apps. We must take into account five criteria: developmental appropriateness,
engagement, instructional design, motivation, and accessibility.

Analyze

- The teacher was able to showcase his discussion by the use of video presentation using
YouTube.
- I suggest the teacher should add some more animated video clips to easily attract the

1. I can evaluate my readiness to use apps in the teaching and learning process by knowing how
to set up and use the apps that we use, such as Google Meet and Google Classroom.

thing I need to learn is whether an application is appropriate for the class that I need to teach.

Analyze
1. The best features of these LMSs for me are that they enable teachers to easily create
assignments and learning materials, as well as communicate with their students. These features
aid students in learning the content by allowing them to read the learning materials and
communicate with their teachers via the LMS.

2. The teacher use the LMS to implement the strategies by making an activities or posting a quiz
using the LMS.

3. It assists me in learning more about the use of LMS and TPACK. It enables me to put my
knowledge to use when teaching students using LMS and TPACK.

4. The problem or challenge that we encountered was that we did not have enough knowledge
when we first started using LMS. It has an impact on teachers and students because they must
practice how to use it properly. Instead of using it already, it takes up a lot of time exploring
and practicing with it.

SOCIAL PRESENCE - Aside from web-conferencing, teacher used messenger to ask where
students got difficult as soon as possible. Teacher must not message a student a personal
message unless it's an emergency or student may be bullied if student classmates
misunderstood. They created a group chat where he can leave a student activity if they can
access the web apps, and where the teacher can send an advance topic to study for the next
meeting.

COGNITIVE PRESNCE - You can also add your student to their social media accounts to learn
more about him or her, as some students in this generation are more likely to spend a lot of
time on social media. By adding them, you can gather information about them and properly
guide them, motivate them, ask what his/her problem is because being a teacher is not only
teaching your subject but also helping your students to be more productive, motivate them in
whatever way it was.

3. The low internet connection in my area most likely forced me to disconnect, so as a student
who wants to learn, I make a way to study what my topic has been unattended, I ask my
teacher if she has a copy of the lesson and send to the class so I do not run out of time of what
should I learn.

Reflect
1. We are new about this kind of teaching for now I may not rate myself how ready I am. I know
that I learnt a lot but I’m aware that it’s not enough to become a quality teacher I wanted to be.

2.

 Teaching presence – Organized of the subject topic

 Social presence – Relation of learning community throughout the environment
 Cognitive presence – Applying of knowledge both between subjects’ topics and outside
the meeting.

LEARNING EPISODE 16

Analyze

 Yes, in many cases, the assessment also assists students in developing a better
understanding of their own academic strengths and weaknesses.
 It is advantageous because it improved academic achievement, and the main
function of formative assessment that will aid in increasing academic achievement is
to provide students and teachers with regular feedback on progress toward their
goals. Formative assessment assists students in closing the knowledge gap between
their current knowledge and their learning objectives.
 It has a positive impact on students' learning outcomes because, as I previously
stated, some studies show that formative and self-assessment help students
improve more in academics and achieve significantly higher grades. It also increases
self-awareness through reflective practice, making the criteria for self-evaluation
explicit, and making performance improvement practices intrinsic to ongoing
learning.

Reflect

- Assessment is an essential component of instruction because it determines whether or

not educational objectives are met. Assessment influences grade, placement,
advancement, instructional needs, curriculum, and, in some cases, funding decisions.
Assessment inspire us to ask these hard questions: "Are we teaching what we think we
are teaching?” Are students learning what they should be learning? "Is there a way to
improve the subject's teaching, thereby promoting better learning? Students today must
have not only basic reading and arithmetic skills, but also skills that will prepare them to
face a constantly changing world. They must be able to think critically, analyze
information, and draw conclusions. Changes in our students' skill sets and knowledge
necessitate the development of new learning objectives; these new learning objectives
alter the relationship between assessment and instruction. Teachers must play an active
role in determining the purpose of assessment as well as the content that will be
assessed.

OBSERVE

1. One thing that went well in the development/use/administration of formative assessment

tasks (assessment for learning?) is that students are actively involved in their learning; they are
able to judge the success of their work and take responsibility for their own progress.

2. One thing that did not go well in the development/use/administration of formative

assessment tasks (assessment for learning? Is Formative assessment is too time-consuming.
This thinking can be a trap. Avoiding formative assessments because they take up too much
instructional time decreases potential learning. The truth is that formative assessment does not
need to take much time at all.

3. Students' self-assessment (assessment as learning) has been shown to improve performance,

strengthen motivation and self-regulation, improve feedback literacy, promote the
development of evaluative judgment, and foster reflection and life-long learning.

4. The ability to ask questions is an important aspect of self-assessment. Improve your ability to
ask specific and pertinent questions. You can't ask and answer every question in the world at
the same time.

REFLECT

- The formative assessment activities went well because formative assessment involves
setting learning goals and measuring progress toward those goals, which increases
motivation.
- The formative assessment activities process did not go well, which is unfortunate
because formative assessment is essential for differentiation. You can never be certain
that all of your students will have the same level of understanding. So let us correct this
misconception. Differentiating for different learners is a hallmark of modern education.
Formative assessment deserves the same level of priority consideration. All learning
must be evaluated for its impact and effectiveness. Teachers are aware of this, and they
are more than willing to take on the challenge.
- Self-assessment worked for students because it helped them stay within their zone of
proximal development while learning. Students are challenged in this zone, which
means they are learning, but they are not pushed too far into frustration.
- Self-assessment did not work for students because it is subjective, which means that
students may not be sincere and may even overestimate their own performance.
Students will be pressed for time, and they may be unfamiliar with the assessment
criteria.

ACT

- To ensure that formative and self-assessment processes serve their purpose of assisting
students in learning, I will learn from others' best practices by researching and collecting
information while learning is taking place. Formative assessments assist teachers in
seeing where students are in the learning process, quickly identifying if students are
struggling with a particular subject, and adjusting their teaching approaches to assist
students in staying on track.
PLAN

- I intend to conduct an action research study titled "An Action Research Study of Student
Self-Assessment in Junior High School" to help improve formative and self-assessment
practices.

LEARNING EPISODE 17

Analyze

1. Yes, because the students will understand the teacher's assessment and realize that each
student has gained a great deal of knowledge.
2. Yes, both traditional and authentic assessment assignment are used by the instructor.

3. Yes, because traditional and authentic assessment activities, such as objective-answer

examinations that require students to apply ideas or synthesis and evaluate data and text in
order to be developed, require principles to better capture the learning outcomes.

4. Yes, formative assessment assignments were used for summative purposes because we
needed to assess student learning. However, both students and teachers can use summative
evaluation feedback to direct their efforts and activities in subsequent topics.

5. In terms of assessment activities, I believe that authentic assessment produces the best
results because it allows students to demonstrate their creativity while also improving their
knowledge and abilities. They can also be based on real-life scenarios and used to teach and
improve students' abilities and comprehension of course material.

6. Students prefer written assessments, particularly multiple choice formats and true/false
questions, because they are thought to reduce stress and exam anxiety and are simple to
prepare for and take.

Reflect

- Assessment, which is the process of letting each students know what they know or have
learned, is one of the most crucial components of learning. When I evaluate my own
definition of a meaningful evaluation, I feel the test must meet certain requirements.
Because the evaluation should cover abilities that students will need in the future, as a
future teacher, I will make the assessment process more relevant and acceptable to
students. My evaluation will be designed to allow students to exhibit their skills and
knowledge in a demanding manner.

EPISODE 18

Analyze

1. In my opinion, teaching exam results imply that the students or the teacher know if each
student has learned something during their sessions. How can they improve themselves, and
how can a teacher motivate his or her students? Assist the teacher in determining the students'
grade level

2. Although I believe that not all students are consistently engaged in all subjects, I believe that
the Filipino topic performed well because the students are already proficient in Tagalog
vocabulary, and many students do not struggle with the Filipino subject. And, in my opinion, the
worst subjects are English and Mathematics, because some English students have difficulty
interpreting, summarizing, or evaluating language. They have difficulty answering and analyzing
mathematical problems. English and math are difficult subjects because formulas are difficult to
define and translate into English terms.

3. Attending a PTC is an excellent way to begin having adequate communication between the
parent and the teacher so that they can discuss what they will do with each student's behavior
because the teacher discusses the student's behavior. In addition, based on classroom
observations, the teacher reports on the student's academic achievement.

4. Some parents mentioned in my interview that they were happy to see their child studying
well on the day of giving the card and thanked the teacher for doing his best to help their
children, and other comments were about how to fully achieve the expected grade for each
lesson.

Reflect

- During my discussion with the teacher, I discovered that some parents and students
applaud the teacher for assigning a grade and assisting them in learning, while others
are perplexed as to why they received so little. The teacher carefully explains to the
student the grades obtained on the test, activities, and performance. As a result, help
parents assist their children in expanding their knowledge, effort, and abilities.

OBSERVE

1. One positive aspect of scoring/grading/PTC that I noticed was that the teacher did it right at
the start of class. At the start of class, students should be informed about the grading methods,
and it should be stated that the course grade will be based solely on achievement. Stay away
from prejudice as well. If you're in doubt, go over the evidence. If you're still unsure, give the
higher grade.

2. One thing that did not go very well in PTC was when parents failed to attend and were
perplexed as to why their child received the grade they did.

REFLECT

- The PTC went well because the teacher and the parents got along well because the
teacher allowed all of the parents to ask questions, which the teacher thoroughly
answered and in a way that the parents could understand.

ACT

- To ensure that the PTC serve their purpose, I will read research on or watch videos to
learn more about tactics that will help me achieve the goals of ensuring that the scoring
and conduct of PTC are seamless and that student learning is improved.

PLAN

- To help improve PTC, I would like to conduct an action research study, observation, and
interviews to better understand what needs to be done to develop the skills. Other
tactics, such as conducting PTC, may be used to inspire teachers and parents to help
children achieve their learning goals.
