I. OBJECTIVES – At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

1. Identify the varied 21st Century literary genres;


2. Explain the similarities and differences of varied 21st literary genres; and
3. Appreciate the unique features of each genre.

Differentiate/ compare and contrast the various 21 st century literary genres and the ones from the earlier
genres/ period citing their elements, structures and traditions.

B. Motivation

Okay so before we proceed to our discussion. Have you heard


a children song that “ ako ay may ulo?” Yes sir
Very good, I know you are all familiar with the song. Therefore
we are going to sing it and make actions with it.

Poetry- is an imaginative awareness of experience expressed


through meaning, sound and rhythmic language choices to
evoke an emotional response.

dialogue or pantomime a story involving conflict more contrast
of character especially intended to be acted on stage.

Fiction – is created from imagination, presented as fact though


it may be based on a true story or situation,

Nonfiction- is based on facts and the author’s opinion about a
