THESIS
What is the current education system in Indonesia? As you know, the world of
education in Indonesia is often in the spotlight. After the implementation of the
zoning system that raises many pros and cons, there are still some other
changes in an effort to adjust to the needs of students. The development of the
Indonesian education system has experienced significant changes. These
developments are related to the curriculum used as the Indonesian education
system. Where the 2006 curriculum which has long been used is replaced with
the 2013 curriculum which uses a modern/digitalization system method, namely
online studying.
THESIS
Talk about Zoning System, zoning system is a system of regulating the process
of admission of new students in accordance with the area of residence that is
applied at every level of the school. The system is regulated in Permendikbud
No. 14 of 2018 aimed so that no school is considered a favorite and non-favorite
school aimed at creating equal distribution of education in cach region. The
zoning system won many pros and cons that were complained of by the
community because some students were even accepted at schools that had
more distance than the nearest school.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the school zoning system strives to eliminate the concept of favorite schools,
aiming for a fairer distribution of educational resources. However, it also has drawbacks, as it
can limit opportunities for students to access quality education and may violate children's
rights. The system may result in reduced motivation among students and the exclusion of
academically talented individuals based solely on their place of residence. It is important for
policymakers to address these issues and ensure that the school zoning system provides equal
opportunities for all students to receive a quality education, regardless of their domicile.
Broadly speaking, we hope that the PPDB system can be improved, by prioritizing the
percentage of students who excel rather than students whose homes are close by, because in
Sidoarjo, the number of public schools is still very minimal, especially in rural areas.
